Life after Mirena

Life After Mirena

Good News, there is life after the Mirena. I got mine out about a week after finding this web site. Until then, I didn't relize that all my symptoms could be caused by my birth control. None of it was on my brochure. my doctor still won't admit that Mirena was the problem.

I had the IUC for nearly 2 years. In that time I expirienced head and ear pain. Scalp tingling and the beginning of hair loss (that is what lead me to find this site, I draw the line at losing my hair), joint pain, depression, mood swings, Acne (which is a suprise at 34). If I read all of everyone's side effects, I would probably realize that I have more side effects then that. I've had it out for about 3 months.

When the doctor asked me why I wanted it out, my main complaint was the hairloss. Even though he maintains that I am the only one with these problems, the nurse questioned me extensively after he left the room and showed me a handful of
her own hair. The receptionist asked me if it was painful, she is breaking out and has plans of having her own removed as well.

Like I said before, there is good news. I went and got a new haircut (short hair for the first time in 20 years) and was reassured by my hair dresser that I have regrowth. (My hairloss had not become noticable to anyone but me). My head and
ear problems are GONE. The joint pain is gone (I have started carrying my 3 year old down the stairs again!!!). The Depression and mood swings are gone. I laugh more. I fight less with my husband, because the worry and Depression that he could not understand are gone.

I am posting this for 2 reasons. The first one is because I want other to know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Get the Mirena out, you will feel better. The second reason is because I want to encourage you all to get the word out about this so call "miracle" birth control.

Come on, girls, we all Blog. We post Myspace bulletins. We forward chain letters, and jokes. Why not take the time to write of your experienced with Mirena and post a bulletin, blog and send out an email to educate women. Our doctors
aren't warning us, and unless you are lucky enough to find this site, you might not know what is causing all your symptons.

I had days where I was worried that I wouldn't live to see my kids grow up, but I found this site. Let's work together and get the word out. The drug company is getting the word out, their commercial makes it look like the only solution to
birth contol. The FDA isn't warning or protecting us. Let's protect each other and ourselves.

Set down and take thirty minutes to post and bulletin, start an email, and plead with everyone to pass it on and keep it going. I did it. Include a link to this web site. Get the word out, not only about Mirena, but let women know that we
need to take a more active stand on our health.

The drug companies are really letting us down on birth control. The FDA is not monitoring it close enough to protect us either. (i.e. Ortho Evra). We've got to educate and help ourselves. We can't take care of those depending on us, if we
don't take care of ourselves. Set a goal, to warn all women of this by the end of 2008. We can bring this to the lawyersattention, and have the drug company being held accountable by the end of 2008, if we just work together.

Thank you for listening,
God Bless you all.
