Sodium Bicarbonate instead of calcium hydroxide?

I've seen other alkalizing drink recipes which contain sodium bicarbonate to raise pH.

An alkalizing drink recipe would be: 8 oz. organic unfiltered (preferably unpasteurised or else only lightly pasteurised) apple juice, 1 tbs unpasteurised/unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), 1/2 tsp Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda).
