Re: Religion? - or truth?

Hi Awakened: Experience. What has your experiences in life taught you about religion? What are the conclusion you come to when confronted with what actually works (truth)? Hows does that square with what you were taught as truth from the various religions of the world. Especially the Christian religion.

Don't think - look.

I learned a lot in Vietnam about spirituality - not religion. I learned a lot being "terminally" ill about spirituality - not religion. I learned a lot from taking care of people the last 30 years about spirituality - not religion.

Funny thing though. Somehow I still hung on to religion. I mean, its been around so long I figure there has to be some good to it. But unfortunately I continue to be disappointed by it.

Apparently the old saying is true: Religion - The ignorant embrace it, the wise reject it, and the politicians use it. Wasn't it Karl Marx who said relgion is the opiate of the masses?

From all my experiences in life and all my studying I cannot find legitimte enligthening from organized religion. My conclusion is its being used by the powers that be to control mankind. And indeed the very core of the problems this planet faces at the present time can be laid at organized religions doorstep.

What I discovered is: People are spirits NOT bodies. As spirits they already innately know right and wrong. Its "native state" within them. As spirits they have much more power and authority than organized religion wants them to know about.

Application of truth works - Belief doesn't.

The savior thing is a con. It eliminates personal responsibilty and leads to slavery. You and you alone are the only one capable of saving you. Which of course means you better get tough and apply some of your spiritual strength they don't want you to know you have to the rather large and abundant problems they lay on you via organized religion.

The beginning of the movie Zietgeist wraps up my understanding of religions quite nicely. The personification of the Zodiac, nothing more.

Quantun physics wraps up my understanding of how life works very nicely. With that you must understand that the "dark side" works with those physics also. At this stage of the game they are winning. And using organized religion to do so.

I could go on and on but I'm sure I would offend many folks.
