Hello Everyone!
Hello there!
Usual story, I'am new to the forum, having been lurking here a few weeks after having confirmed that I have thrush. Usual suspects here in how I may have gotten it; got sick with a common upper respiratory illness, which in turn resulted in my getting an ear infection, which was subsequently treated by the doctors with a broad-spectrum antibiotic.
This was followed closely in turn by a period of intense stresses at work, and then of all things by a spider bite! One thing appears to have lead to another to give my immune system a double-wammy punch, and I soon started seeing a couple of very light patches of white on my tounge. After numerous delays and getting the run-a-round, I was finally diagosed with oral thrush, and now I'am on nystatin (seems to be working, though slowly).
However I have concerns (being ignored by my PCP)that I may have leaky gut and that there may be something more serious going on in my intestines where the canadia is concerned. All my symptoms to date match almost exactly what most of you here have experianced.
For the last few weeks I've stuck fairly close to the diet; avoiding sugar, breads, meats with
Antibiotics and hormones, ect. Thanks to reading up on all of your various experiances with "The Monster", I've managed to avoid falling into various pitfalls, most especially in the management of the die-off (it's still very traumatic!). I've also been able to marshall my resources more efficently, namely avoiding various bunk or so-so "cures". Even still, it's a fairly expensive matter! In particular I've had to go through the heartache and expense of tossing out 80% of what was in my fridge and cupboards, and buying new foods at health food stores to replace it all. :-(
At least I get the joy of being able to soak in detox baths every few weeks (my first round of that has been occuring over the last few days, and it makes a difference!). :-)
Anyway, it's been a pleasure to meet all of you, though under trying circumstances. I can only hope that I won't been at this for years on end, but it is still possible. However, having read Tasha and Bemmer's successes recently, it looks to be a very achivable goal. I look forward to beating this thing with all of you by learning from each other. :-)
