This sounds crazy when your freezing but Trapper's right about this. I have lived in very cold climates for over 10 years now and I moved to the south this year. I was freezing even after the move. I've not taken off my socks for more then the time it took to take a bath for at least the past 10 years. My sister has bought me very expensive house socks to wear made of wool for Holidays. In the summer, I am the cook that wears socks with sandles and do not care what anyone thinks. I slowly started forcing myself to go without my socks starting in April. I thought I would absolutely die the first month. I turned my hot water heater to warm and did not allow myself to take a hot shower or bath any longer. I was taking 5 baths per day just to stay warm. It was rough! My husband said I had feet like sandpaper and that they were looking a little gross! They are much better now. I've just added socks this week and that is only becuase I live in a townhouse with concrete floors and I am forcing myself to keep my environment at 68 degrees all the time. I need to stop this activity becuase I have worked very hard at this and have seen this as an effective avenue of raising the body heat.
