I'm 5'8, 170lbs. My goal is to trim any fat I have and turn it into muscle and to lose some weight. I would like to get tight and define d, as I am broad enough. Here is my typical daily diet. Any suggestions or hints on what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.
8am - 1/4 cup oatmeal(quaker oats)/handful of raisens/1 packet of nutrasweet.
10:30 - apple/no fat cottage cheese(enough to fit in my hand)
2:00 - 3 slices turkey on whole wheat/handful of carrots
4:30 - orange/cottage cheese(enough to fit in my hand)
7:00 - 1 portion protein/1 portion carb/1 portion veggie
9:00 - no fat yogurt/3 hardboiled eggwhites
I workout 6 days a week: 3 days cardio(interval training for 20 minutes), 3 days weights(either 2 days are upper body/1 day is lower, or vice-verca).
I drink between 8-10 glasses of water per day.
I give myself 3 meals on the weekend to "cheat." I was told I can take 1 full day and cheat, but many times I would rather spread them out...say Fri night(1 meal) and 2 on saturday. Cheating for me, has been to basically eat whatever I want.
Again, any suggestions as to things I should/should not do are greatly appreciated.
