I too am a newbie to fasting and now on day 14. I experienced exactly what you are going through, I was not hungry but thinking about eating Indian meals and salads. It gets better though. Just take it day by day. It takes time to adjust, you have probably been eating 3 meals a day all your life, so you can hardly expect to get used to not eating in one day! It's just like any change, going on holidays, driving a new car. It just takes a little while, that's all.
Now I still think of food to a certain extent, but with a new positive attitude. When my fast ends I am thinking of eating really healthy fresh foods. But while the fast lasts, I am learning to enjoy this new found gift, and the more I read here, the more I think I will benefit from it.
