Re: First Timer - Hope People Here Can Help Me
>Thanks for your help and advice. I don't have enough money to get IV Vit. C at the moment but it sounds as if it would be helpful.
Ok. At least you know you have something you can try if things get hairy.
>I'll wait until I get the Cutler book to do anything.
Good idea. You'll need to read through it a couple of times too.
>I do have a problem with alternating constipation and diarrhea and I've heard that magnesium can help with constipation.
Yes. Vitamin C too. Both are laxatives.
> I'm a little worried about minerals as I've read that DMSA takes needed minerals out of your body.
Thats not really true as Andy has said. The only appreciable way that chelators mess with minerals is if you take ALA. ALA stops/reduces the excretion of Zinc and Copper, so the levels of both of these can rise. Because of this Andy advises that you only ever spend half the time chelating with ALA - i.e. you shouldn't chelate continuously with ALA.
> I'll try to get a test done to see what minerals I need but I'm not sure I can afford that either.
If you haven't already get a hair test, that is a good idea just to give you a baseline from which to measure improvement.
> I'm not working right now because of my chemical hypersensitivies so I'm dependent on my parents for money.
Not working may actually work in your favor. It means you can concentrate on chelation and not have to worry so much about "being functional" for work etc.
