Re: I'm feeling very good!

Hi Anne,

I didn't know that acetyl-carnitine regulated cortisol! I have hypoadrenal and hypothyroid issues, and I'm trying to deal with them in a fairly safe manner, so this looks like a must-try.

You probably already know about this, but there is a good scorecard here for adrenal and thyroid: http://www.drrind.com/scorecardmatrix.asp

You're right, I think my issue is much more brain mercury. Having a low body temperature means that I regularly put myself in hotter environments than most people will put up with, so I've always sweated a fair amount over the years. I think that and other things has kept my blood mercury low. But my major health problems seem to lead back to endocrine issues. And, while this was somewhat creepy for me, many of the psychological symptoms of mercury poisoning seemed a little scary in their accuracy. E.g., readiness to take offense, or dwelling too much on past offenses. Difficulty in meeting new people and living in the moment, and so forth.

I think you just had a bad reaction to DMSA period. Maybe at some point in the future you might want to consider retrying it after making improvements with chelation. ALA is more important for mercury, but DMSA can be a good thing to take to knock down lead and cadmium levels, which ALA and DMPS may not be effective for. If you're normal for them, then it's not that big a deal, but nice to know you're getting rid of even small amounts of these toxins.
