Numbness in hands / fingers

Dear George,

I am curious to know your perspective on a situation that I have been having for some time now.

For the past 5 yrs or so I have been experiencing very sudden onset loss of feeling in my hands when they are in a certain position like sleeping or even resting forearms down on desk table etc... The numbness started as a tingling in fingers and went up the arms and even went to legs and toes several years ago but seemed to stop progressing 2-3 yrs ago. I still have the numbness in hands that come in cycles. When they get numb it is quick and the hands seem to lose all ciculation and become very heavy feeling and limp as though the hands may break off at the wrist. This wakes me up from time to time and is very painful. I do also get a very sudden onset pins and needles feeling in my legs and feet when sitting cross legged this is very much a difference than in past.

Some background... I'm 35 and this numbness began months before my divorce and I originally thought the numbness was connected to such. I have had considerable stress since then and experienced some relief since I began bowel and liver cleansing. I have done about 25 liver flushes.

I believe that all dis-ease or illness is spiritual in nature and I have not been able to tie this to diet although it sometimes gets better with changes to diet. I am vegetarian but feel I eat too many grains. I also take homemade kefir and cheese

Do you have any insight on this? can diet help or is something else. I saw a hypnotherapist recently and felt some doors were opened but not completely satisified.
