The thyroid is not the only body part that can benefit from iodine. I disagree with the subject, in that they have eliminated the overbalance of the other distructive halogens. It is because of this overbalance that we need to consume more Iodine that the U.S. recommended daily amount. That amount is for normal, healthy people. We've been through this before. Once again, I draw your attention to a very healthy nation of Japanese, who for centuries, exceeded the 150mcg recommendation.
