Re: YAY!!!!!

Thanks for the welcome!

Wombat,
As far as the companion nutrients, I haven't been taking them as a supplement...but I have been drinking raw juice and eating fruits high in vitamin C and eating brazil nuts for the selenium. The only thing I have been lacking is the magnesium. I have been mixing epson salts in juice and water every now and then to cleanse, but I'm not really sure what kind of magnesium I should be taking.

My detox hasn't been too bad...I suppose as you said, it was from taking it slow. After I started increasing my dosage a bit after the first couple of months, I did get a lot of the bromide zits and brain fog. After moving up to 50mg I did get some cloudy urine, but not as many zits as before.

I read an older post of yours yesterday about you having mood swings and being a "bitch" sometimes. I can totally relate to that. My husband and I have been married just a little over 2 years, and I hate to say it...but the first year I gave him a lot of hell over the dumbest things. I went on hormonal birth control a few months before we got married and it was like I did a complete 180 in my temperment. Every little thing would set of a mood swing...things that would not have bothered me before. He didn't believe me when I said it was the birth control that was causing it, he thought I was using that as an excuse and that I could control the way I was acting. I honestly could not. It was like I would lash out and scream about something, then moments later realize how stupid I had been and apologize. After I got off those awful pills, it has taken me a long time to undo the damage they did. Luckily I discovered Iodine to speed up my healing process. Only now am I starting to really feel like "me" again. I've even got my husband and my parents taking Iodine now too.

My husband was "diagnosed" with ADHD when he was younger. He has always had a problem paying attention or keeping his focus...the "flight of ideas" description fit him well. He was taking some dangerous medication (actually medication originally intended for schitzophrenics- which de definitely was not- to control some nervous tics which weren't that noticeable anyway) when I met him. I convinced him to stop taking them years ago, to the dismay of his mother, who believes everything these allopathic doctors say is gospel. After beginning Iodine supplementation, he no longer has a hard time focusing, and his thought processes are clearer. He doesn't have as much trouble maintaining focus during a conversation either. As far as his nervous tics, I'm not sure if that has been resolved because I never noticed them anyway because they were so minor. He usually only does it when he is stressed about something, usually me, but after we both started taking iodine we don't get stressed as much.

I still have a few moments where I will loose my temper, but nowhere near the degree that I did a year ago. I really think the iodine is helping me relax and reducing my stress levels a lot. I honestly feel as though iodine is not only healing my body, but my marriage as well. If I had continued down the path I was heading...I'm sure he wouldn't be able to live with me very long. He is the sweetest man in the world, but I'm sure he has his limits.

I really enjoy reading your insightful posts. I often find myself saying, yep...that's me too, to the things you observe on your iodine journey.

And yes, my breasts do feel great!
