Yikes!

Olive pomace oil is extracted from the olive paste that remains after the oil has been pressed out of it. A chemical called Hexane is generally used to get the last bit of oil out of the paste. Most pomace oils must be refined because the paste is generally fairly ripe by the time it gets to the factory for processing with a very dangerous chemical. I dont think pomace oil has much of any health value and sure does not taste very good to me.

I'll pass on anything manufactured with Hexane. It is a very dangerous chemical. A lot of folks buy it because it is cheap and they think it has the same health value as EVOO. Where I grow olives and make oil, it is not allowed to make pomace oil or have the dangerous chemicals used in the process.
