Re: Severe case of strep throat

My neighbor has great insurance but constantly
had sinus infections. It was even something she
came to accept was like a rite of spring or
summer or fall...she faithfully went to a doctor
for years. Ultimately, she had to be given more
Antibiotics and different kinds as the kinds she
was using became ineffective.

One day she was on her way to a doctor appointment
but I had to interrupt her trip with news there was
a fire at her place and the fire engines were on
the way and I was there with a hose wetting down
everything. She came flying home and hours later
after all the excitement had died down, she was
still feeling terrible, had not been to the doctor
and was exhausted. I gave her a bottle of Olive Leaf
Extract and told her to try that. Also, to jettison
the soda she was sipping on. Within days, she was
over her infection, symptom-wise, although I urged
her to continue taking the Olive Leaf until it
was all gone and to drink plenty of plain water
since I knew it would also begin detoxing her
of yeast and parasites as well.

She followed my suggestions and was amazed that
anything could work so well. She borrowed my
book on Olive Leaf and read it. She told me that
this was the first time in her adult life that
she had not had to take a prescription for a
sinus infection. She asking me about other
recommendations, and I shared with her about
Liver Flushing since she had been taking meds
for years, I figured she could use a good "filter"
cleansing. Anyway, this has been more than a few
years now and she still has not had to return to
a doctor for a sinus infection. In fact, she has
only had a couple of relapses and has taken Olive Leaf
Extract. I took she and her husband to their first
health food store and it was eye opening and when
we go to town together, it is now always our first
stop. Previously, she had purchased her cayenne
from the dollar store. Discovering herbs, and
especially organic, non-irradiated herbs has changed
their life. I am sharing this to illustrate that
we NEED to raise the awareness of the value of
keeping things simple, to rebuild our bodies and
our health. We need to teach our young ones ways
to maintain their own health and to limit their
exposure to adulterated and contaminated foods
as well as ones which the FDA had allowed onto
the shelves of our food supply chains in the name
of profit and perhaps with an end result of compromising
our immune systems so we can more easily fall ill
and be fodder for the pharmaceutical companies
agendas.

Since giving up doctors, I have only visited my
dentist and my chiropractor. I have not had an
infection and if I did, I would still exercise my
choice to choose herbs over prescription drugs,
which may, or may not work, and which may also have
effects on my liver which are unwanted. My success
with herbs and home remedies has motivated me to
keep doing what is working...

It does come down to choice. Some people like the
quick, give me a pill way, and I like the challenge
of using my own knowledge and that passed down to me
to treat these issues.

Another example, which also produced another family
whose eyes were opened to the value of using an $11
dollar bottle of herbs over the cost of a doctor visit
and the cost of expensive medicines...a friend's son
had an infection so bad in his throat, his lymph nodes
were literally bigger than golf balls and he was so
miserable. He had taken a round of Antibiotics but
perhaps he did not take enough, I do not know, but
I gave him a bottle of Olive Leaf and instructions
how to use it. Three days later he came to visit and
was simply astonished that herbs had worked on an
infection he even recognized was really serious. He
told me he would never forget that herb and thanked
me.

Also, middle to low income people must do what they
can to get and stay well as a trip to a hospital
may mean the fragile budget is blown for a month
or more. The cost of insurance is prohibitive to many
families and individuals. I actually wish it were
easier to educate families how to better care for
themselves. We live in times however when most still
abdicate their health choices to doctors, OR they have
insurance and do not want to *waste* it.

The key to success in achieving and maintaining health,
for the average individual, is education and raising
awareness of the different risks associated with
lifestyle choices.

be happy, be well,
Zoe
