generally, I like to eat protein in the morning and lots of it..that and plenty of veggies.I eat the opposite actually...I will eat in the early early mornings,fast all day til late evening (6ish) eat something little,then go to bed.
I am pretty sure I only get like 1800 calories a day or less,but they are soo nutrient packed that I don't need all that much to get by.Works great so far.
If I were you I would try it the original way (fasting all day then feasting) just to see how it works out for you,you could even do it my way and still make progress IMO.I have tried it either way and though fasting throughout the day you loose a ton of weight,this way (large breakfast) you don't get as hungry all day..then you don't even have to eat alot at dinner if you don't want to because you can just wait for breakfast.
not sure about what to do about your issues with bloating or chicken/lithens or whatever lol..I generally eat more proteins,veggies etc. and then carbs just whenevers and its usually chili (fiber)
