That Rumsfeld had the clout to push aspartame
through all the hoops needed to get a product
approved is not comforting. For me, it belies
the greater rot of the system which truly most
people *do* put their trust in. Aspartame may
well be the second prong of a two or more prong
attempt to affect the will of the people and
make them more vulnerable to manipulation.

I have been successful in getting the people,
who I have begged to quit aspartame, to quit,
although I suspect part of it has been my own
passion about its dangers more than an understanding
on their part.

Even my own child, as an adult, seemed to be
engaged in *sneaking* diet products when I was
not looking. So grocery shopping with her was
another opportunity to have a heart to heart...
"it only takes a little rat poison to kill a
rat, honey", I said. I was resigned to accept
her choices when she wrote me a few weeks later
saying she had finally given it all up and was
working on her boyfriend's love of diet soda.

My neighbor was extolling her love of flavored
water, laced with aspartame. "I would not drink
that stuff", I said, and shared with her my reasons
why. She took back the case of water she bought
and also began her own campaign to raise others'
awareness of the dangers of aspartame. That her
health improved once she stopped her diet product
habit also contributed to her resolve. It is not
that people are unwilling to be healthy, but that
information is lacking. If there were warnings
on the Aspartame product boxes, there would be
less of them...sigh...it makes me sad to realize
that there are people out in the world who want to
kill off the bulk of us, based on some long range
eugenics agenda, instead of working to make the
effort to enable us to thrive and use the assets
and talents of those living here in a way which
is uplifting instead of suppressing...

Those of us who have reduced our contamination
to the point where we can critically think will
have to be the ones who continue to gnaw through
the ropes that would bind us all beneath the
feet of corporate greed and corruption within our
government.

The tobacco fiasco was sad in that I was reading
reports on that in the 80's as well as reports
on fluoride. It was 20 some years before the
tobacco info went mainstream and still it did not
get the attention it deserved. Cigarettes are
still adulterated and sold everywhere.

I was reading this information years before the
computer was available to the public. I used to
get info from a research group, called the
Leading Edge Research Group. It often meant
bringing in a book, from the mailbox, that
resembled a ream of paper and slugging through it,
but it also meant that my search for truth was
successful.

This many years later, I would attest that seeking
truth has been a worthy goal. Truth impacts my life
in the most positive ways, certainly more than any
propaganda or efforts to obfuscate it. Thankfully,
I am not alone in my appreciation of truth and so
while there is an effort to manipulate and suppress
truth, ultimately, I think time will provide its
victory over deception.
