Quinta_Essentia has made some very good points. I would like to add that you must make any changes slow and go for this type of issue. Too big of a change too fast will leave you feeling worse.

I also have a few questions for you...

What pharmaceuticals have you taken in the past?

SSRI's, SNRI's, anti psychotics, weight loss medications such as Fen-Phen, Meridia, etc. High Blood pressure medications, and pain killers, even OTC's and herbals, though to a much lesser extent, could have exacerbated your problems... especially if you took any of these at the same time you took High Blood Pressure meds...

I know... been there, done that, fought back.

This is extremely frustrating to have your pants fit one day and the next they do not and all the health care professionals telling you that it is all in your head... calories in - calories out BS! Mine even went so far as to tell me the medication was not the issue when I had gained nearly 60 pounds in 3 months AFTER starting the medications and WHILE making drastic changes in my diet INCLUDING calorie restriction...

I am still struggling with repairing the damage of these drugs AND life style habits... and I can still have fluctuation in my waist size if I eat certain foods without compensating in some way with balancing nutrient supplementation... usually magnesium, potassium and calcium... the good news is I am far away from where I started 2.5 years ago and there is hope, but you must focus and dedicate yourself to getting well.

How are your bowel habits? Do you have as many BMs a day as you do meals?
