Re: Trick or Treat - *Pictures*
OH MY GOODNESS!!
I am trying to comprehend what I have just been looking at! If I have understood the "Trick or Treat" presentation correctly, someone has been faking pictures! Why?
I do remember a while back posts were made with regards to the pictures. The "owner" was rather defensive in coming forward with answering some questions. How easy was this to do? I have to admit, if it were not for your circles and pointers and explanation as to how this was done, I would have struggled a bit to find the flaws but, in all honestly, I did notice those strange objects in many of the pictures. I did wonder why. I also thought some of the objects did not "sit" right either. But I'm no expert, who am I to say.
I admit I don't have much knowledge of micrographs apart from owning my very own set carried out by Apxr, who, if I remember correctly, also had suspicions about these pictures too. I believe with Apxr's knowledge and expertise in this field (and yours too) that you would be able to spot a fake a mile away! This should have alerted many more people than it actually did. I am very surprised how very little people questioned them and took them for "real". I can only imagine people were in the same boat as me, they didn't see them as fake and didn't feel they were in a position to question them.
I remember you questioning the "owner" of these pictures to answer several doubts you had and I remember them falling on "deaf ears".
I must ask the question as to WHY this person would do such a thing? What has he to gain? There is no place on these forums for someone like this. If these pictures are to be believed then a lot of the "untruths" may be believed too! Very dangerous in my eyes. I do hope the person in question, "comes out" and "comes clean". He certainly has some explaining to do. I, for one, would like to hear it.
Thank you for the "wonderful" presentation and education.
