You are so right. He has that glassy-eyed, pre dementia look that people get on statin drugs.
Also, as I've been following the ads, they give "relative risk" statistics which are considered ridiculous-- as compared to "absolute risk" statistics. The absolute risk statistic of a getting a heart attack is reduced by 1%.
And most likely due to the anti-inflammatory properties of statins, not the cholestrol-lowering properties. You'd be better off with fish oil or one of the many anti-inflammatory foods.
Statins do not improve survival and increase death from non cardiac causes. They also increase chances of "violent death."
