Hallejuah...thanks for reporting this!

I have a salt shaker pretty much LIKE THIS ONE(but with a few more holes that appear a little larger than in this picture and I always put down two bowls of water.

I have two 35-pound dogs, so each bowl holds a quart of water.

Now, the tap water I use is already purified by reverse/osmosis, but minerals are removed! IT is the water I use for both bowls.

However, I put two good shakes of this salt AND 1 drop of this iodine into the other bowl every single time I refill it. Every single time.

My dogs have been getting this since February or March. They RARELY drink out of the plain one, but since they do every so often, I still provide it.

The unknown thing in all this, is are they getting ENOUGH salt and iodine? I do know they've both shown "backed up" issues. Every once in a great while one or the other looks like they don't feel well, and seem to have constipation issues. Or my one mixed breed has had what I believe are kidney issues. She's a bit constipated, and literally tries to stretch but can't, so I believe her kidneys are getting too backed up.

It's when this happens that I'm learning to add a bit more salt to her water, even though I broke down and bought a mineral salt lick for the dogs for the back yard. (It's out of my view and I really don't know if they actually lick from it or not but they do spend a lot of time near where I lay it).

I'm also learning, at these times, to add a few more drops of the iodine.

They still choose the salted and iodinated water!

I also now put a T of olive oil in their food every day...they each get a Tablespoon.

They both are so wonderfully healthy, with bright eyes and beautiful shiny coats that gleam.

Very happy dogs.
