Re: pic's-- intestinal tape worm?
Hello,
Yup, that looks like a segmented worm to me.
I'm new to the forum, I gather that there are a bunch of people who think that you are nuts if you think you have worms. I live in Florida, and the old cracker (Flroida native born) cure for worms was to chew tobacco and swallow the juice. It's a pretty good insecticide, but I bet it was hard on a few other organs.
I can't even imagine having to explain the tape worm thing to an actual MD. Florida has an legal procedure for locking up lunatics which remarkably violate the bill of rights. Basically, all someone has to do is dislike you enough to call the cops and say you are crazy. Then you get stuck in the looney bin until they decide to let you out, when they present you with a rather large bill. I'd rather take my chances on herbs than go through that.
I must have had mine for probably 20 years, I had colonoscopys, hemocrits, the whole nine yards, and nobody saw any evidence of parasites. I lived on the went coast, in an area with excellent medical care, and I had really good insurance. After I did my first purge, and found the 5mm tape worm scolex, I was treated by an alternative medical practioner- an acupuncturist and who literally went icky ooo when I told her what had happened to me. So alternative people aren't necessarily any smarter about this than the regular MD's.
But, unless you've been through it, people really go straight into denial. It is pretty creepy stuff.
Glad you got the guy, as one of my friends said when I told him about it, I'd just wave bye bye, flush him and tell him, "Hope you had a good time in there."
