Yes, Christianity: The Greatest Story Ever Sold tells a similar tale, about the taking of the various stories of other religions to create Christianity. However, that would mean that all of the religions that have existed are only fables, but they are based on a single set of truths from another time (and place?).

It's all very, very interesting. That is why the journey within is so important; so that one can be centred and grounded and disregard that which does not have resonance within oneself.
