fibroids and iodine

I've had fibroids in the past and had them taken out about 10 years ago. I think they probably returned over the past few years as I've on bio-dientical estrogen.
My obgyn also felt something and I thought I could feel something lumpy
in my uterus too when I pushed hard.

I'm 53 and now having periods around every 2-3 months.

Last spring after about 1 1/2 years on Iodine I had the wierdest period that went on and on with fragments of tissue coming out every 2-3 days for over a month. I wondered if it was fibroid material. Then I had 2 more periods with the same thing but for far less tissue. Started a period today that's totally different and no sign of any tissue.

I've been on 50mgs of iodoral for 2 years now with lots fits and starts due to intense constipation and other problems whenever I tried to up the iodine. The past year has been mostly 50mgs going up to 100 at times. The period with the wierd tissue was right after one of my 100mgs times....probably on 100mgs for a week or so before it started.

I'm currently back to 100mgs as it appears intense stress wipes out my Iodine stores. on less. I was getting breast pain 2 weeks ago on 50 and have been under really bad job stress. Soon as I upped it to 100 breasts softened and my reaction to stress improved by leaps and bounds.

Back to the fibroids though....I think they're gone. When I palpate my uterus I don't feel anything odd and the clean red period tells me something is going right. I'll ask for an ultrasound to be sure next doct. visit but I'm willing to bet there's nothing.
