Re: LOVE: a feel-good social construction.
Never been "in love" huh?
It's different and not explainable with words. To love is easy. The near death experience and war make that type of love permanent in your life. You know what it is and wouldn't want to live without it anyway. Hard to put words to it though.
Being "in love" is something totally different. Nope, can't explain it to you. Have tried many time - always fail.
Goes like this. If you've ever been "in love" you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, good luck, you're just guessing.
The problem with the lovers as opposed to the lovees is the lovers get abused, used, lied to, cheated on, neglected, etc. etc. The lovee just keeps moving on.
The heartache is the price you pay for manifesting love in your life. Get used to it. Once you know what love is, as per the NDE, war, and a few other things it just doesn't matter that you get hurt or not. It's not possible for the lover to cause that kind of pain to others and it's not possible to go back to being who you where before you discovered the reality of love.
You're stuck. Oh, but what a wonderful place to be stuck. You apply love to just about everything. Did you ever notice that work ceases to be work when you put love into it. That's cool - no more work.
Love doesn't have hormonal roots. Real love is a spiritual thing. You can try to rationalize it all you want. All that means is you don't know what real love is yet. It's NOT definable. It is THE mystery.
Talk to someone who has died and come back to tell about it. Talk to someone who has been in combat, seen the senseless killing of his dear friends. He knows what love is too. It's NOT hormonal. It's spiritual. Not explaniable in human words.
Remember when you lost the "in love"? Remember when you lost other ones that weren't the "in love"? Who did you sit aruond and rag about? Not the one you were "in love" with but the one you didn't love. Trying to justify using them when you didn't "in love" them in the first place. Interesting tricks we play with ourselves.
Infatuation is hormonal - we've all been there.
No, real love is NOT a bio-chemical/hormonal rationalization that you can disect and study out of a book.
Once you know what it is you can never go back to being who you were before you knew. It ain't worth it anyway. Heartache and all.
Manifesting love is a wonderful way to spend your life. It's just funnnnnn.
Better to be the lover than the lovee.
