Re: refunds from website

This is just a suggestion from one of the many of us out here who are concerned with problems that affect the continued availability of MH's products.

Since this thread from MH show's his continuing effort to keep the high ground with this situation, those of you who pursue his offer for a refund can help a little too by taking the time to bring up your particular individual piece of this overall problem with your credit card company; inform and complain to them that the merchant - IE> not MH but the operators of Obeyenature.com on who's behalf the CC company allowed funds to be trasferred to from your CC account at the time of the on-line transaction, took funds for services/products and then failed to meet their end of the bargain. Your monthly credit card bill should show the name of the legal entity that recieved these funds; it may be Obeyenature, it may not, it varies depending on the nature and practices of the merchant. By law, flimsy as it is these days, credit card companies are somewhat required to share an interest in this problem; if they allow funds to be taken from your CC account, then they share in the responsibility of seeing that you either get what you paid for OR get refunded. They are also in a better position (they have more clout) to get the attention of the merchant. There is a time element involved here and the fact that this situation relates to those who maid a purchase a month or more ago, the fact that a month or more has lapsed may give the CC company the wriggle room they need to bail out on this situation, but it's still worth the effort.

Just to clarify, here are the main parties involved: you the on-line purchaser who used your CC number; the credit card company; the Merchant who took the funds and whom we now know is/was also the operator of Obeyenature.com; the provider of goods - MH.

In the process of seeking help from your CC company, this may (operative word - may) help to put a little pressure on the merchant from a different direction. At the same time some of you may also learn the valueable lesson - that when put on the spot, CC companies can be just as slippery and dishonest as merchants like those who ran Obeyenature are in the process of portraying themselves to be.
