Ethnicity, vegetarianism, and the O?

Can someone explain to me why O's are supposed to eat so much meat? I stopped eating meat at the age of 14, and felt worlds better. I didn't get any sort of virus for 6 years. I've been vegan for 12 years. Also, I'm Indian. It's not in my blood to eat meat. Most of my family in India is vegetarian/vegan, so how would the addition of meat to a body which has never had much meat in it's heritage help? I think eating the foods that are native to your body help more than anything. Asian people can digest things that caucasian people cant. I don't crave protein, I get enough just the way I am. I don't have low calcium or iron levels. This diet reeks a little of BS to me.
