Re: bizarre hearing loss
This may or may not have any relevance to your problem but I am throwing it out here because someone may google CZ for hearing loss and it may help someone.
I read a long time ago that hearing loss is sometimes connected to hardened mucus inside the ear (not ear wax). That years of eating dairy products, cheese, etc. could eventually lead to hearing loss to someone so inclined. Whoever wrote this advocated a complete avoidance of dairy products and frequent taking of hot drinks, soups, etc. with avoidance of cold drinks. He said that cold drinks contributed to hardening of mucus. I have also noticed that the Chinese do not take cold drinks and even recommend tepid or warm water with their medicines.
My dad lost his hearing, had an operation and then began having difficulties hearing again. I told him about that. He is old and forgets a lot of the advice I give him. When his hearing gets worse, I tell him about the cheese, he cuts it out and the hearing improves. He forgets and goes back to dairy products and all of a sudden he can't hear me on the phone anymore.
I crave cold drinks, but I think if I could drink a lot of hot drinks, I would have more luck with a long standing sinus problem, although
Iodine has alleviated that a lot.
