Hi Glax, thank-you very much for posting those. I have others which are even more bizarr. The "cover slip" is the little thin sqaure glass that sits on top of the specimen on the bigger glass thingy.
The specimen "was not from direct body fluid specimen". This was obtained from a process of purifying gut e-coli bacteria, and transfering filtered specimen to water in test tube. Bio-films result, which is what e-coli make when in hostile environment. Biofilms are like plaque.
The weird fiber-like things emerge from those biofilms, and morph into several forms. Some of these forms go on to develope into higher organisms, and others into plant-like structures. The crystals are a mystery, but I assume it is because of the "synthetic nature" of this organism--chemicals. Shroom

The bacteria comes from poo originally, but they have been purified over and over for months. The fibers in early stages are everywhere in stool samples. I have to be able to recognize other stages by studying the things in a pure state first.

Scientists from the University of Pennsylvania have developed nanowires capable of storing computer data for 100,000 years and retrieving that data a thousand times faster than existing portable memory devices such as Flash memory and micro-drives, all using less power and space than current memory technologies.
Ritesh Agarwal, an assistant professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, and colleagues developed a self-assembling nanowire of germanium antimony telluride, a phase-changing material that switches between amorphous and crystalline structures, the key to read/write computer memory.

Fabrication of the nanoscale devices, roughly 100 atoms in diameter, was performed without conventional lithography, the blunt, top-down manufacturing process that employs strong chemicals and often produces unusable materials with space, size and efficiency limitations.

Instead, researchers used self-assembly, a process by which chemical reactants crystallize at lower temperatures mediated by nanoscale metal catalysts to spontaneously form nanowires that were 30-50 nanometers in diameter and 10 micrometers in length, and then they fabricated memory devices on silicon substrates.

Glaxony, those things are far beyond the microscope. You need an "electron" microscope to see those. Although, if enough of them are in one area, you could see a cloud. They are as thin as large bacteria, but way waaaaaay longer. shroom
