Remove me from your list of Moderators. I made it perfectly clear during the "Moderator Elections" that I did not wish to be a Moderator, particularly considering the utterly inappropriate contact that I received from another Moderator during the "election" process which was reported and never acknowledged or remedied.
I wish to surrender my membership ID for Curezone.com. I have had enough of the intense negativity that I've witnessed and been involved in. At least, when I made an error in judgment, I had the common sense and courtesy to make a public apology stating exactly WHAT I had been guilty of doing and not just offering a vague nod of the virtual head.
When I first found Curezone.com, I was thrilled to "meet" other people who were in search of answers and willing to share their experiences and knowledge. I was new to taking control of my own health, but I had plenty of experience in other areas and made an effort to share those few things that I knew while I was trying to learn from others. For a brief time, I felt that I had found a virtual place where I would be encouraged to learn and teach and where every member was valued, even if personalities clashed - that feeling began a slow death-spiral in March, 07.
In the 7 months that I've been a member (lurked for quite a bit longer than that), I have seen this site dissolve into chaos, personal rancor between member factions, and there is absolutely NO TRAINING FOR, or POLICING OF, Moderator activities. Nor, are members/moderators who deliberately cause harm to other members held accountable for their actions and required to apologize. The only requirement that I had to meet to become a Moderator was to visit a specific site that only "taught" the technical aspects of moderating. There was no "training" on proper conduct (just vague suggestions), ruled of moderator conduct, or ramifications for anyone who broke those rules. I feel like an absolute fool for recommending this site to so many people and it's no wonder that many of them politely told me that it just didn't meet their expectations.
If you were truly interested in maintaining the integrity of this site to "Educating Instead of Medicating," you would have placed a temporary halt to all Moderator activity, developed some sort of training, and insisted that any Moderator who breaks the rules of conduct would be stripped of their status and/or banned from the site, according to the nature of their infraction, regardless of their length of membership. Instead, you held a site-wide Moderator Election that deteriorated into a popularity contest, and tossed the new Moderators out into the fray without the benefit of any EMOTIONAL training, whatsoever.
I have had enough of the negativity and inaccountability. I'll find my answers elsewhere and, if the opportunity arises, share what little experience that I have to others who are in emotional turmoil.
To all of those who helped me find a better path, I offer my most sincere and heartfelt appreciation. To those who are so consumed with their lust for control, I offer my most sincere and heartfelt pity.
There isn't much that we can say about the moderating issues without falling into the same trap of hair pulling and finger pointing. But everything SB said is absolutely true. When some moderators misbehave, ALL mods end up paying the price in one way or the other. Over the years many have been accused of doing what perhaps another has perpetrated, all the time having to feel as if with tied hands. But this is another subject now.
I certainly do hope you will reconsider, especially after perhaps taking off a few days to recharge your batteries. Like the moderating situation, I hope you realize that the people who are giving you a hard time are not numerous, but the same small number over and over, whether by handle or number. The rest of the folks here derive a great deal of information and power into their lives by the experience you have to share. I don't think that for the time being anyone on CZ has the knowledge to give the kind of advice that you do, although certainly we all mean well.
I have followed your posts for the past couple of weeks and I'm keenly aware of what has transpired, so I don't want you to think that I'm making light of any of it. And yet having been on Curezone as many years as I have, I have seen the ebb and flow of ugliness, and believe me, I have been the target of it more times than you can imagine. I have taken my sabbaticals and writtten many an impassioned letters of complaint to the Powers that Be to try to extract some justice. Many of those pleas have been ignored completely. It is frustrating to say the least, but I keep coming back. Why? Because there are also people here, and I believe the great majority, who are examples of humanity at its best. Some of these gems have been around for a long time, others have left and come back after a long time, and new ones come in who bring talents and experiences which are valuable for potentially thousands out there. I believe that you fall into that last category, and it is a shame to think that the tiny fraction by comparison who belittle and misconstrue your messages are the ones to win out.
Consider me your friend; I will leave you with a quote I read when I was 17 yrs old in a Japanese fortune, which really helped to shape my life:
"The responsability of tolerance always falls on the shoulders of the man with the greatest vision"
May joy and blessings overflow on you!
Ali =(^^)=
I didn't know you had wanted to be a moderator! I would have given you my vote and thumbs up wholeheartedly anytime.
I hope Spirit will take this into consideration. There are so many forums on Curezone and so few mods. In my humble opinion, the recent votes became more of a popularity contest than a genuine search for good candidates (obviously not in some cases)
Well, let it be known that from this point on, I officially propose you as a Curezone Mod!!
THAT'S 1, 2, 3, VOTES SO FAR FOR HOPINSO AS GLOBAL MOD !!!!!!!!
She's been here for years and years. Experience, compassion, knowledge.
The voice of the people.
Vote for Hopinso!!
Hopinso has my heartest endorsement for moderator. She is as level-headed as anyone I have encountered on the internet.
Come on, Webmaster. Please all of us!!!!!!!!!!!
