Hi, first of all I would like to ask for everyone's patience and kindness, if someone starts being rude about this, it may run me away and I not get the help I need. Plus I'm only 22 and learning about health, not a pro.
Okay, I have had Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil by Crisco this week, only because I wanted to get some extra virgin olive oil for my brocoli, as brocoli is my favorite dish, ever, When I went to the store, the Crisco Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil was on sell, like half the price of all the other Olive Oils, I got it thinking it was a promotion sale because I'd never heard of Crisco having Olive-Oil and it helps money wise because I didn't have much. After using it on my brocoli stir fry, and this is the only new thing I have introduced new into my lifestyle diet, I have these strange headaches, not hurting headaches, just the feel that something is moving on the brain, this is so weird, I haven't even finished the whole bottle. I am going to throw it out.....I've been reading later, that this was the wrong olive oil to get because it came in a plastic bottle and is made by a major company. It's 4AM and I can't sleep because of what my head feels like. Please give me some advise. Are stir-fries with olive oil dangerous? or is it just the crisco olive oil?
I had been using another kind of oil, non olive oil, and this never happened. I don't want to leave brocoli alone, but I may have too, I just wonder if I over did it, I hear the using extra virgin olive oil in italy and spain is a normal thing, and since I haven't even used half the bottle, what has happened? This is a 16.9 oz bottle of 100% Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil by Crisco. Could it be the stir-fries? Is once a day stirfries of extra virgin olive oil too much? I had brococli and colorful bell peppers, the only think new is this crisco olive oil. My body is telling me that something is wrong......so I have stoped the stirfires and use of this oil completely, I feel that I am too young for something like this to be happening to me. I am praying for wisdom, I need to know what's happened.

You’re youth and educational training prevents you from accepting it.
So.
There is no way Crisco could have a real Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil product.
You will find though legalese that they can have up to (if I remember right) 30% of another type oil in their bottle of EVOO.
This I’m afraid is what educational intelligence gets us.
The ability to play word games to get around moral known’s of right and wrong.
You had everything worked out.
You simply need a little more trust in yourself.

I can't believe Crisco and other companies are so greedy for the dollar, they don't mind if a couple of people get sick with it. Reading up about these major companies, I find out that it's in a plastic bottle to save the company money, I should have gotten one in a dark glass bottle and from a small farm company, someone not as big as Crisco. I read on the label, and they don't say whether it is coldpressed, and I think if it's not cold pressed, they may have used heat to get the oil out and that can effect things too. I thought to call the comments line about this, but I thought they might hang up on me if I said their Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil has made me really ill.
I know inside, it's the fact that it's because of the Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil by Crisco, but I am afraid to touch any Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil for a few weeks......I don't want to chance having to go to the hospital, I'm so young, and yet my head has been just not feeling normal. It's like the feeling you get when you are on your cycle, you might not be in pain, but you know you don't feel normal. I feel pressure by my ears....and warm. If it gets worst, I think I may go to the doctor.
But you know what else, I had a feeling inside when I bought the Crisco EVOO, maybe don't get it, get another brand, but because of the price and the fact that I thought all Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil was the same, I ignored it.
Please send your warm wishes and prayers towards me, I would cry if I didn't have faith that I would be all right in the end,

You are 100% correct. Always remember this with any commercial food or product you buy-- the big corporate companies know how to bend the rules and end up corrupting anything they manufacture, and turn it toxic somehow.
Your best bet is with the small time companies that these big corporations always strive to take over and kick out of business.
I don't buy any oil in a plastic bottle-- and a good unrefined Cold Pressed olive oil (and make sure it is cold pressed so you get all the nutrients intact) should be stored in a dark glass container in a dark cool area-- like a basement.
It wouldnt surprise me if Crisco also added 30% canola oil (which is actually toxic taken internally) , and they paid off someone in the FTC to not have to add that on the label.Advertisement

It is most likely good it is cheaper because although they import it it most likely is made from a mix of olives and has been adjusted for oleic acid content so as to be ok in a plastic bottle. If that is what you can afford I will not judge that. All olive oils are subject to being adulterated with other oils, most people cannot tell so they do it and they will do it as long as the laws are as they are. This is a risk you take.
Are there any additional ingredients in the stiry fry past broccoli, oil and peppers? seasoning? a bad pepper theoretically can give you a solanine reaction but you would have to be super super sensitive and you would have noticed this before.
Drink lots of water and do not worry evaluate tomorrow and see how you feel. After some days give the oil a try and see what happens and let us know.

This is a reply to # 878,707Yes I am aware of all that. Yet there is no proof that this is going on with Crisco. Extra virgin Olive oil in dark glass jars is adulterated also. If they have it in plastic they have adjusted the acidity, you bought it in plastic and were aware of issues there. If you do not test you cannot be sure.

This is a reply to # 878,717No No, I only saying that if this is the only new thing I have added to my lifestyle diet, and I get ill, it has to be the new thing I have added. Just because it is a major company doesn't mean I can always trust them. Immediately after having this oil in my stirfries, I got a headache, when it lingered this long, i knew something was wrong....
Immeditatly I got ill, I just assumed, it couldn't have been Crisco Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil because Olive-Oil is suppose to be healthy. You really have to read the post about these companies, if you would have read what I just read, you would know that something is wrong here.
I just wish you would accually read the link I posted before saying something. This was bad enough, I considered going to the hospitital, this wasn't a normal feeling i get from stirfrying broccoli, this was headache feeling like something is crawling on you brain, light headness when you lay down and hot all over.
Do you work for Crisco? ^_^ Just Kiddling.

Yes I read the link it has been here for 4 1/2 years.
As I said the oil has been adjusted for acidity so it is not as bad as it could be leaching out the plastic.

I am here for information, if anyone has experienced this or not, and what they did to get well, has anyone heard about this with any Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil , I only mentioned the company so that it would be more complete in finding out everything about this situation. It was never to say stay away from Crisco, it was not to defend them or protect them, it was never the intension to say whether or not they are a reliable company.
I can't believe you are coming back at me like this. And to tell me earlier to try the oil again......It could have been bottle water, if something you have been doing most of your life, you add something new, and get sick like this, why try that new thing again?
I just wanted help, why spoil everything, you are just being mean, saying that I am being familar, I was kidding with you about working for Crisco, I hate when people take things out of context. There are better things than to go back and forth like this.

I am not sure what you are referring to there you responded to my post that was solicited by you. No I do not have the experience of getting a headache from eating extra virgin crisco oil from a plastic bottle on stir fried broccoli and peppers. You are going to be hard pressed to find someone who has duplicated that.
It is not necessary for you to verify as I said previously if you know you know...
so there is no reason to go on. take your knowledge and quick research abilities and run with it.
If you feel back and forth is not necessary why post?

It doesn't matter if it is that product that bothered you, or not...you are coming to the realization that not everything is what it appears to be, or what it 'should' be...and that is truly tragic...that we disappoint youth and innocence that way.
This has been so for centuries, milleniums...ever since the first of our species discovered that they could gain advantage over others by pretending.
Still, every one of us, since the beginning, has had to come to this realization at some point...we call the realization, and our ability to cope, 'maturity'.
You have a great gift on your side. Call it intuition, or intelligence, or instinct, or whatever...you 'get it'. It is now your task to find your way, quietly and patiently, through the maze...without losing your optimism.
As for your headache, it could be caused by many things.
White potatoes, sweet peppers, tomatoes, eggplant, and tobacco, have been called members of the 'nightshade' family of plants. Many people react to them.
Some cooking pots are thought to be unsuitable for use.
The Amalgam fillings in your teeth could be giving you difficulties.
You may be lacking any of a number of important nutrients...or you may be getting too much of something.
Begin with your instincts...your body knows what it needs, and doesn't, before your head does. Listen. And experiment, keeping to the best you know so far. And choose...always keeping open to newly-discovered possibilities.
Beware of making changes that are irreversible...until you are quite certain.
And, as you know, harm no one, including yourself.
Life is seldom fair, but it is a great adventure.

This is a reply to # 878,662Thank you Fledgling, I really appreciate you. I think I may fast for the rest of the day, and drink water to flush everything out. I am getting somewhat better, but it's after hours of not eating, the time that I was suppose to be asleep I just stayed awake and prayed for the world(laying down is uncomfortable after that oil). I thought about so many people and individuals that are sick like me, and it's made me feel alot better to think about them, so many people need that love and attention, and for tonight, they had mine. It makes me think I should pray for the world more often, to pray for peace.
I really appreciate you all, thank you for helping me in this time of need.

This is a reply to # 878,684And you know what, I really do feel alot better. This early morning, It was really bad, but I am much better than I was atfirst. My body is sweating out these impurities also, naturally, I feel like my body is purging, the headache is lighter. My hands are cold, and when I place them on my head, my head feels better too. It's like my body is knowing just what to do. So Thankful to God and everything around me.
Goodness, we don't know what a gift health is, and when we don't have it, and start feeling better, we know what a joy it is to feel normal. To not be sick, to take care of your youth. I just want to get a couple of oranges and eat them, just thankful for the good foods on the earth.
The headache is slight, but not distracting like before. I won't take any pain medication because I want to know when I am truely healed, not just hid the symptoms and to have never gotten well.

But, is there any chance of some kind of food poisoning from something else you ate?
Even if that were so, your body seems to be handling it well.
My husband and I once ate with a friend, and drank home-made wine as well.
About two a.m. we both bounced out of bed and headed for the bathroom. There we stayed until about five.
We were both sick as dogs...at both ends.
At the some time we were worried for our friend who was alone for the night.
We phoned her...she was fine.
Then we called the doctor. He said that we must have picked up some kind of tummy bug, but, if we were ABLE to phone him, we were going to be just fine.
Sheesh! That was a kind of backward reassurance!

This is a reply to # 878,783Thank you so much Fledgling and everyone here. When something like this happens and you are new to it, you think you are dying. hehe. My body isn't used to stuff like this, I think I am sensitive to different processed stuff and weird additives.
hehe, I can laugh now, but earlier, it was so bad, I was so ill. I am so into health and eating right.....why would I pick a brand that makes Lard and stuffs. lol, good grief Cherry. ^_^ Not that this company is bad, maybe it's just me.
I will be sticking to the basics now. Slowwwwly. And sticking to Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil that I know about already ^_^ And in a smaller portion, building back up to my normal portion with time, if it happens again, I'm sticking to fruit and another way of cooking veggies. I just hate to cook out all the nutrients, and with stirfries, veggie's nutrients aren't all cooked out until the veggies are saggy and lifeless.
This was my whole reason for coming to curezone, just for help and to see if anyone else had experienced this and what it could be, and what I could have been doing that need a change.

I would recommend you to check your blood pressure. Olive oil will lower your blood pressure, and low blood pressure will cause headache.
If you do have low blood pressure, you can still eat olive oil, just add more salt. Make it Sea Salt .

This is a reply to # 879,029Maybe it is low blood pressure, my headache got slight, but then I started noticing small heart cramps and my arm vein was hurting....My mom made me some carrot juice this morning. My blood pressure my have been lowered too much, there was alot of olive oil used, because i normally use frozen broccoli, but i got fresh, and it was so hard, it would absorb the oil and start to burn and wasn't getting softer just burn, so I add more oil to it, maybe way too much......I never thought about this until now. I thought that the amount of oil used wasn't going to hurt because it was suppose to be healthy......I will read up about this more....I thought I was getting better, I guess it was because I was being more active, like on the computer and moving around yesterday, but once i stoped and got quiet, it came back.......
Thank you for your insight. I think from this moment forward, if i am ill with this, i'm going to the doctor instead of online, because it's gotten serious.

Thanks again Wit and Itch, it may have seemed dumb, but i was clueless of this, I thought that more was better....I never had to use so much with frozen vegetables because it was already moist, i guess because the water saturated it because it was frozen......Too much of a good thing can be bad. I will be emailing you personally Wit and Itch, kay?
