okay, so someone's post yesterday got me asking what exactly is the salinity of the Water Cure recipe compared to the salinity of the ocean? ocean salinity is about 3.5%, give or take depending on conditions.
the Water Cure calls for 1/4 teaspoon of salt per quart of water. so you might think that .25 teaspoon per quart expressed as a percentage would give you the salinity of that solution, right? wrong!!
i discovered that salinity is based on WEIGHT, not VOLUME. and teaspoon and quarts are measurements of volume, and they must all be converted to weight to get proper salinity reading. salinity is almost always expressed as grams of salt per kilogram of water, then converted to a percentage.
so i did some research and got all of the raw data necessary to do this. i did indeed arrive at a number, but i am not sure about my math. here is the raw data.
Water Cure Recipe - .25 teaspoon salt per quart of water
water
1 quart water = .946 litres
1 litre of water = 1 kilogram of water
salt
1.52 teaspoons = 1 gram (there are 292 grams of salt in one cup)
so, one quart of water equals .946 kilograms (since litres and kilograms are equal in regards to water)
and .25 teaspoons of salt weighs .169 grams (this one i am unsure on, please check my math)
thus .25 teaspoons in a quart of water is equal to .169 grams of salt in .946 kilograms of water.
1 gram = .001 kilogram
so .169 grams = .000169 kilograms
so the Water Cure recipe call for .000169 kg of salt per .946 kilograms water
thus the salinity of the waer cure is far less than one percent, i calculate it at .0002%
how does that look? if anyone is willing to check my math and make any possible corrections, i would love that.

MoreThis is a reply to # 783,817I'm not sure if the rest is correct or not, but when you divide the .000169 by .946 and get .0002, you would have to move the decimal point over 2 places to the right to get a percent, so it would be .02%.

I did not do the math, but the amount of salt needed in the water should just be enough to provide the water with the ability to carry the Electro-magnetic Energy properly in the body !
It is the very same principle used in Electro-plating, you only need a small amount of Salt to get the Electro-plating process to work properly, and any above this amount does not improve the process !
Edit: Most people who use too much Salt and not enough water, may run into problems with the Water Cure !

usually, its the other way around. people dont think the salt is important or that they get enough salt already and dont need to bother. all a person has to do is play with hydration for a while and make absolutely sure they are properly hydrated and then learn their own sign for when they are not. i know exactly when i need water and/or salt and simply take it accordingly now. - Re: --answer--I did the math on the ... finallyfaith

This is a reply to # 783,817there is 35 grams of salt in a liter of ocean water? sounds like a lot. thats over 23 teaspoons or almost 8 tablespoons. about a quarter of a cup, in fact.

The author of The Master Cleanse stated that the SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) worked because it was the same specific gravity as the blood. I was taught in school that the salinity of blood was very close to that of seawater. In the Evolution based courses I took, that fact was given as a form of proof of the theory of Evolution. This is a reply to # 783,911Assuming the math is right and I have no reason to claim it isn't....just throwin this out there for an interesting topic I don't know much about and am otherwise content to observe others discuss.
Depending on how one looks at these numbers.... for instance, lets say one is inclined to utlize conventional spin a la MSM (not entirely out of the question). As such one could say that the salinity of blood is "close to that of ocean water... how close? well, it's literally within a few percentage points". True statement, 3.5% and .02 % only have 3.3 percentage points separating them.... so a spinster may well opt to frame this as a - it's so close it's within 3 percentage points" scenario.
On the flip side of this reality, one may counter that yes, it's within only a few percentage points but at the same time ocean water is orders of magnitude stronger in salinity than blood.... also a true statement.
The same basic spin has been widely spread in recent years of "got milk?" 1 % skimming madness. From a few years forking manure and pulling teets on a family run dairy farm, I was taught that regular, whole, Vitamin D milk is 3 %, but the Milk Association (whatever the poltico / government regulation body is) prohibits farmers from selling/promoting whole milk as " 3 %".

This is a reply to # 783,942i found several reliable sources saying blood salinity of humans is 0.9%. this is why the saline solutions they pump into your arm in case of dehydration are also .9% salinity.
if ocean water is 3.5%, then the ocean is 3.9 times saltier than human blood.
i have read MANY sites saying the salinity of blood and the salinity of the ocean is exactly the same, i don't really see it that way.

the ocean varies from about 3.3 to 3.9%, depending on many things. but the average is 3.5%.
