I do not celebrate Christmas- but did when the kids were at home-
I had gotten kinda a bad attitude about it- commercialism plus it 86 degrees in decemebr and the water temp is 64-Can this be the yuletide?
Then I went to Self Realization Fellowship yesterday and the monk Iliananda said something that resonated with me
Something along the lines that Christams is a time of buying shopping and giving but underneath all of that there is still something special about that time of year (even though Jesus was almost surely not born in Decemeber based opn the astrology and star positions)
And the specialness is the Christ consciousness and that if we all have a day of meditating, praying, whatever you may do with you soul life...
"The light will rain down upon the earth" There are other cultures that are doing the same in the holiday season whether the enchanted gardeners essene Judiasm, certainly the Hindus, and I am not sure about the Moslem Traditions (R, do you know)
But the season is holy to over half the earth and that prayer or that meditation joins all the others and raises the vibration of the earth and us
At Self Realization Fellowship we have a 8 hour mediatation- I have not been doing deep meditations lately- but there is an opportunity ( a kirtan break- musicians and chanting) in the 4th hour, I will leave then.
Ilinanada also said for those new people who 4 hours seems like an impossible amount of time- come you will be carried by the vibration and the time will go by without your knowing it
And I did remember a time when this was true- so I have not been bulding up ( we have meditations from October on building on the length (and depth) of the meditation
Like training for a marathon or any atheletic event-
I have not trained this year but I will go and let those who have carry me...on their vibration
We had a Xmas party yesterday- and I met a very influential fellow in the training and development field- a conflict negotiator and manager- He is a teacher in my program - training and development...Who would have thought? But there you have
There were many strange alignments yesterday
And I knew it sprung from my devotion earlier in the day
