I am on 2nd day of MC.& when i weighed myself today i weighed 3lbs more than i was before starting MC.I am not doing it to lose weight.i want to point out somethings about my regular diet.
* i am lacto vegetarian.& have been folowing a good balanced diet for atleast 2years now.
*i have a tendency to build up gas when i skip breakfast or any meal & i usualy weigh more during those time.
*yesterday was 1st day of MC.i went to #2 3-4 times after salt water flush.drank about 8-9 glasses of lemonade & went to #1 just once !! Is this normal?
what concerns me is am i retaining water or building up gas.is it a good idea for me to continue with MC. Please someone answer.

This is a reply to # 748,802Yes i am doing SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) every morning.also just want to mention that i dont eat much Sugar regularly.1 teaspoon with my coffee. 1 coffee/day. sometimes no coffee at all.
i drink soda may be once amonth. Not much ice cream,chocolate,or any desert.may be once in 3months.i do eat 1-2 fruits/daily. Now that i am taking so much maple syrup

This is a reply to # 748,808Unless you are underweight, then I doubt that it is the syrup. Did you read Pepe's post below about Master-Cleanse & weight loss? The Master-Cleanse is not a weight loss program. It is a cleansing fast. It is cleansing your body. If your body thinks it needs to retain more water to start the cleansing process, then you are going to retain water and gain weight (this is just one scenario of many that could be contributing to your weight gain).
Again, unless you are under weight, then my opinion would be that the weight gain is temporary and it will go away in a few days once your body start "mass cleaning".

This is a reply to # 748,798I could be from the syrup. If you're underweight, you might NEED to gain weight. Burroughs said that you will gain if your body needs to.

MoreThis is a reply to # 748,798I never weigh myself until the end of a cleanse. The body goes through many changes, and weight loss fluctuates. If your main goal on the Master-Cleanse is "a pound a day" you are sure to be disappointed.
Of course you should continue if you would like to complete this excellent flush of your body's systems. As they say, would you drive your car 50 years without changing the oil and filters? This is a wonderful gift you give yourself!
If you have not done so, I highly recommend the post Pepe put up below regarding weight loss and the MC.

This is a reply to # 748,820i am not doing it for weight loss.i am supposed to b 125lbs for my height.but i look sick at that weight.so i prefer to be around 130.i want to keep it like that.
my main concern is gas buildup.as i said before i always had peoblem if i miss breakfast or meal.Now since i started Master-Cleanse its worsened.i dont know what to do?has anyone had this problem? what should i do?- Re: On MC & gained weight!!! Somer

This is a reply to # 748,834This early in a fast you may very well be congested in your colon. Have you done a successful swf? If not... do one! Flush your colon well, fast through and your problem should go away. A plain water enema can be a good option to get things cleared out.
Gas is a sign of poor digestion. Something you are eating is not being efficiently digested. Wrong combinations? Sometimes raw foods do not sit well with people. There can be a lot of things, and this cleanse can help you find out what.
Do your ten day MC, break by the book, then a little at a time start adding your normal foods back into your diet, taking note of what is causing you trouble.
