If I were to drink fresh fruit or vegetable juice I could relax and breathe, feeling well-nourished and safe (content) in the knowledge that I had sustained my body, for now, with the very best foods I had available to me.
If I were to eat a cookie of some kind, I would be disgusted by my own actions and it would not take long for me to seek to purge my body of the offending matter as quickly as possible.
Perhaps this is related to belief more than anything else? If you feel that you can relax after eating something not-so-good for you, "normal" as you put it, do you then feel that you are doing yourself an injustice by abstaining from the foods and drinks you enjoy? Hm, do you feel miserable when eating correctly?
(I am sorry for all the questions, and please do ignore them if you wish to. I am a curious chap, though, and always eager to learn...)
