James 2:14
What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:18
Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
and of course, faith without works is dead.
but beyond that, have you ever seen a child learn? does a child sit and ponder? no, not at all. a child is alive and active and grows and learns by doing. the more restricted the childs activity, the more they are dprived of learning experiences and the more impaired his growth and learning will become.
Matthew 23:13
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Matthew 23:15
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
and we all know who todays scribes and pharisees are, or at least we should.
