I have always wondered about this, if there is a hell and people who do not live up to the standard are condemned to eternal suffering there how could anyone really be in paradise?
If you went to heaven and all of your family went to hell or friends of yours went to hell...could heaven really be paradise knowing that those you loved were being tormented FOREVER? How could anyone with any compassion for others actually consider heaven paradise when you know others are suffering?
Some might say that God takes away you knowledge of hell and all you experience is the pleasure of paradise, well then it would be a false paradise and not the reward of a just God. It makes me believe that if there is a hell then there couldn't really be a real heaven, therefore if there was no real heaven it makes the idea of a hell pretty meaningless as well.
Could paradise really be a paradise if you know that others are suffering?

And as far as enjoying whatever paradise there is while there is suffering going on? Don't the angels already do that now? There's PLENTY of human suffering on earth, yet according to the bible, the angels spend a goodly amount of time (some of them ALL the time) doing nothing but praising God and enjoying paradise in his presence (?) or at least that's what I've read and understood.- Re: How can you enjoy paradise knowi... #55210

On the contrary, it is very clear.
Ghehenna is filled with Christ rejecters and will continue to be filled with Christ rejecters until they are cast into the lake of fire after the White Throne Judgement.
That is why it is imperative that we pray for our love ones that God will give them a clear understanding of the gospel so that by grace through faith they will be saved.

I suppose they just get the default "go directly to hell" card? Oh yes, they'll be with all of the billions of countless souls that weren't Jewish and lived before Christ came to earth.

Call me stupid, but when Jesus told his followers that he was to be crucified, they cried something like "Lord, Lord, who will teach us? who will guide us? what will we do without you?" And he replied that he would send his spirit to our hearts to guide us.
He DIDN'T reply, "well in about 300 years or so, the beginnings of the Roman Catholic church will be trying to figure out 'what is holy & sacred'...and so they'll gather up all the writings of what I said (that have been floating around for 300 years since I died), and they'll put what their egomaniacal, perverted, self-serving selves decide is "holy" into a book, and that will be the New Testament. But until they decide what "the word of God", I guess you're on your own." AND Jesus never once indicated that the old testament was "the word of god".
And I'm thinkin' here...hmmm, if the old testament was the true word of the almighty Creator God and father of Christ; and the new testament was the ultimate/universal word of truth ...don't ya think just maybe, Jesus would have remembered to mention it?!?!

He says, "it is written" or "as it is written" a zillion times, but how many times does he refer to old testament as "the word of god"? And how many times does he refer to the old testament, and correct it or alter it? "it is written, but I say..."
He would correct or alter the word of God? Then God (via the trinity) wouldn't be "the same, yesterday, today and forever".
And what's your answer? Did Jesus forget to tell his followers to read the non-existent, three-hundred years later to-be-compiled-by-corrupt-church-leaders new testament (or forget/fail to mention the old testament?) when they asked what they were to do without him? Or did he mean what he said when he said, "I will send my spirit to your heart?" Inquiring minds wanna know.

He was offering "The Kingdom" to Isreal with a new government with Christ as King, if they would accept Him as "The Messiah", a transition from Law to Beatitudes.

A simple man, Jesus was. He used simple words, simple explanations and VERY logical, understandable parables. He didn't mince words, or put things in some form of theological 'code' so that common people couldn't figure them out.
They were simple questions "why did Jesus tell his followers that he would send his spirit to be their guide, rather than telling them about the non-existent new testament, or directing them to the old testament?" And "did Jesus ever refer to the old testament as the word of God?" But rather than admit to yourself that the answers are as clear as your need for a colon-cleanse to the brain, you complicate it and attempt to explain it away with deep rhetoric and theology. Can you say "scribes and pharisees?" sure, I knew you could.
If that all works for you, and makes you closer to God, then by all means, be close to God...but know, that "to whom much is given, much is required", and when you confused and alienate others from the truth, you will be held accountable.

Shall I speak "smooth words" so I won't offend the flesh?
