I do not know if it is pesticide-free or not, because I have not smoked it in a few years, but it is called Natural American Spirit (additive-free). It's possible that they are now making their cigs from organically-grown.
My favourite cig of all time is from the Sherman Co. (New York) - "Virginia Circles". They have a line of additive-free gourmet cigs, quite pricey if you ask me; also, they come in hard cardboard packages that open like a little box. I do think it is worth looking for them.
If you live in a large city in the USA, you should have no problem. If you live in a town where you can't find them, you can order them, both Natural American Spirit and the Sherman's. The Canadian fascist-socialist govt. made it illegal for us here to use the Post Office to get cigs from your country, and the private courier companies are following suit to avoid trouble.
What you said about people getting cancer after quitting - I have heard this, also. I used to know an old woman (she's gone now) who when she was in her 60s went to the hospital for a problem unrelated to smoking. She thought that she should try to quit because people were bugging her to do so, and she was feeling so stressed about it that her doctor told her not to try to quit!!! She lasted a long, long time.
In a book I read, a doctor said that people who are real old today are way stronger than the young people, and that is why they can handle tobacco. In other words, if you were born ,say, in 1975, and smoke a lot, you probably would get an illness related to smoking, but if you were born in 1900, you could smoke all your life and probably nothing would happen. I can't stress enough that we have to look at the angle of OVERALL LIFESTYLE,not just one factor. Amen!
