Stretching the front of the neck...you would be slamming the back of your head against the floor...
#4 you are supposed to stretch(or flex) everything including your neck, and I can see it there...
It would seem that you would be stretching your front neck muscles more in Rite #3 when you are bending over backwards...if this is the case, you might try putting your hands behind you slightly below the hips on the top of the rump, then when you go to bend back flex the butt muscles before bending back, controlling your backwards bend with your hand and bending from your waist...
You can always use a warm up exercise before the rites...
For the neck flex it forward, back, and side to side before starting...breathe in go forward, breathe out and relax, repeat 3 times...breathe in go back, breathe out and relax repeat 3 times, breathe in and go to the left, breathe out and relax, breathe in and go to the right, breathe out and relax...
Usually when I do my exercises, I breathe in from the nose, and out by the mouth...
And yes, you are supposed to do one per breath cycle...if you are having trouble, break up the set...I still do this for the fifth rite...If I feel I can not do it right, I stop and rest and then do the rest of the repetitions...
