I have been reading the posts here for months trying all the suggestions. I have had bo for several years now. Mine does not seem to be as bad as alot of you. My bo is heat activated. I don't seem to have much of a problem in the winter. Basically, I can shower and put on deoderant and once I'm out in the heat for 5 minutes, I will start stinking. My smell is really strong bo only under the arms. I have tried several things over the years, but nothing has been a total success until now. I have been reading on the internet about grapefruit seed extract. It has anti-bacterial properties, so I thought I'd give it a try. I bought it from www.pureliquidgold.com. It is supposed to be triple the strength of other companies. It came with a description of 170 uses. It said you can use it two ways as a deoderant. I tried the easiest way first, which was to apply one drop with wet fingertips directly to the armpit. DONT DO THIS! My skin felt like it was on fire. The skin really looked like it had been set on fire. It was almost unbearable. Even after a week my armpits are not completely healed. So, I tried it the second way which was to dilute it in a spray bottle of water. I have been spraying my armpits after I shower for about two weeks now and I have had NO bo. I almost can't believe it! No smell even after I run in the heat. I have also been at the lake and swam and sat in the heat with no smell. I will keep you all posted as to how things are going, but as for right now, I will be using this stuff the rest of my life.

I actually had already read that information before, but I don't believe it. Because, the grapefruit seed extract I am using is 60% Grapefruit-Seed-Extract and the other 40% is just vegetable glycerine. Therefore, the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract has to be what is killing the bacteria. Anyway, all I know is, it is working for me. Also, I forgot to mention earlier, Grapefruit-Seed-Extract is supposed to be a great breath freshener as well.- Thanks for sharing! n/p Mrs. Lightning 20 y 6,484

This is a reply to # 558,404I just wanted to give everyone an update. It's been about a week since I first posted and so far so good! It's been really hot here in the south. Just yesterday with the heat index it was like over 100 degrees. This would normally cause me to have bo immediately. But, after being outside for hours, there is NO smell.

This is a reply to # 558,404have eliminated the need for deodorants completely. I exercise strenuously and have for years. I perspire heavily, but have NO odor. I have also eliminated the underarm stains in my clothing, not to mention the lingering odor that is not easily removed by laundering.
I have forgotten where I came across this common-sense advise, but I'll share it in the hope that enough people will follow it that I won't have to be disgusted by, and embarrassed for so many otherwise sensible people.
1) USE A WASHCLOTH WHEN YOU BATHE. So many peole think that rubbing a little soap on their skin is enough.
2) SHOWER INSTEAD OF SITTING IN YOUR OWN DIRT. The water running over your skin is what removes the bacteria that causes odor.
3) RINSE, RINSE, RINSE. The magazine article I read, suggested 5 minutes of rinsing---AFTER a good scrubbing with that washcloth and soap. I no longer rinse for that long, but removing the slippery soap film is vital. The soap is still full of the bacteria.---makes sense doesn't it?!!
4) TAKE ONE SHEET OF CHEAP PAPER TOWEL. TEAR IT IN HALF. ONE OF THESE PIECES IS FOR EACH UNDERARM. SATURATE IT WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL (ABOUT $0.50 AT WALMART) RUB ALL AROUND THE UNDERARM AREA WHICH INCLUDES A PRETTY BIG AREA. TURN THE PAPER TOWEL OVER AND RUB AGAIN. You can then use this towel to clean up the toilet, sink or whatever (presumably you skin was clean, so this towel is clean)

This is a reply to # 558,466I have been using the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract as a mouth rinse, too. The directions say to put 2 to 5 drops in 4 ounces of water and drink it. You do this 2-3 times per day. It does not burn my mouth at all! I have had no problems doing this. I have to warn you though, it is very bitter tasting.

This is a reply to # 558,472GSE is supposed to be a great, long-lasting breath freshener. After seeing the results with my b.o., I bet it does a great job with breath too. For your underarms, you mix 5 - 10 drops with one cup of water in a spray bottle. Always shake well because the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract tends to settle to the bottom. I just use a couple of sprays. It really isn't such scary stuff. It just has to be diluted.

This is a reply to # 558,404I bought some grapefruit extract in a tiny bottle and being stupid put a drop under my tongue My lips and tongue were swollen for 2 days so I dont know what would happen if I swallowed it Later I tested negative for it with kinesiology and so does my daughter The rule is definitiely dilute it a lot and I think it should be in a child proof container It works well for those who can take it Dop you think people who smell bad have candida? Sorry if that has already come up But it is a good candida teatment

This is a reply to # 558,404I am wondering if this Grapefruit-Seed-Extract is safe for kids. I have a 13 year old daughter that has terrible underarm odor. She has tried just about everything and nothing works. Is this too strong for her to use?

This is a reply to # 558,513Make sure she tries Mitchum (man's deoderant). I use it because it is the only one that works for me. It is EXCELLENT and I get the "no scent" kind. Hope it works.

This is a reply to # 558,513I would think your daughter could use the Grapefruit-Seed-Extract for deoderant. The directions that come with the bottle do give childrens dosages. As long as you dilute it in water and show her what to do, there shouldn't be any problem. It is still working fantastic for me!

I've had Body Odor , in the armpits, for quite some time now and it seems to getting worse. Smells like onions.
A couple of years back it was still ok but its gotten worse. After a few hours of taking a bath and putting deodorant I can smell my armpits already. I've actually taken to putting a wad of tissue under my armpit so when I sweat it won't transfer to my clothes and make me smell.
I've searched on the web for various cures that I've tried.. alcohol, topical creams, lemons, tomato juice.. *sigh*

This is a reply to # 558,404I am a 22 y.o. college student that has been dealing with bad B.O. for years. I've tried the chlorophyll tablets, the rubbing alcohol, the aluminum free deodorant, natural deodorant, dietary changes, alternating deodorants etc. and nothing has worked longer than a few weeks. I am very interested in GSE, but of course I am skeptical. I was wondering if you used the Tea Tree Oil in conjunction with the GSE? I'm wondering if it is worth investing in both products or should I just try Grapefruit-Seed-Extract first?

From guy with former BO, check this: Shave your armpits every few days, then once a week. Use a "health food" type deodorant such as Nature's Gate with Oak Gall or Queen Helene with Copper Chlorophyllin. The hair in your armpits multiplies the number of bacteria by a millionfold. Shave = end of problem for the most part.
