Sugarlily,
I think all of the suggestions you received so far are very good. Especially washing your face with dial does not seem good. Find something neutral.
I'll admit, neither I nor anyone in my family has an
Acne problem, just the normal occasional youthful zits. BUT as an adamant health nut and a regular curezone reader, if I or they had
Acne I will tell you what I would definitely do for acne. Vitamin B-5 Therapy.
Take 3,000 mgs of Vitamin B5 3 times a day and your
Acne should dissappear fairly quickly, and the pores might shrink in size, as well. If you have severe acne then take 3,000 mgs 4 times a day. This is just the Vitamin B5 you buy at the drug store or health food store. This is a high dose, but B vitamins are water-soluble, thus practically impossible to overdose orally. It's pretty inexpensive and easy to do, so I see no reason to not try this treatment.
After some reading, I believe one way it works is it is involved in preventing oil from being excessively stored in the skin. If you want to read more, go through some of the older posts in this forum about b5. Apparently the results are pretty dramatic. After you have good results you decrease the dose. You might have some slightly dry skin in places like the corners of your mouth, elbows and knees, etc. but just wear lotion, until your acne is under control.
I'm an adamant anti-dairy person myself, so I switched all my family to rice milk. My sister's school friend was always chugging down milk and she had super oily pimply skin. My sister told the girl what I had told her, and that girl switched to soy milk (soy is not the greatest but still) and now her skin is almost normal, just slightly red.
Also, eat a raw leafy green salad every day, the chlorophyl and enzymes really help rebuild healthy skin.
Hope that you find what you are looking for!
