I know what you mean. When I try to work on my pH balance, I look at the lists of acidic food and alkaline foods, determined to make my pH change by eating better. But most foods that I eat are alkaline, so I don't think that's really the problem. But I don't know that a urine pH of 6.2 is all that bad. I've heard some sources say that your urine shouldn't be too alkaline. I read somewhere that if your stomach isn't producing enough HCl to make the minerals that you eat absorbable, there's no way your pH will go up. Also, I've read that if you don't have some kind of good quality fat with your foods that contain vitamins, your body can't absorb the vitamins. And most recently, in Adreas Moritz' book, The Key to Health and Rejuvenation, he says that our bodies have a hard time breaking the cell membrane of raw vegetables, and so eating only raw foods may leave your body malnurished. I know that there are so many different opinions out there that it's impossible on any given day to decide who is right, what to eat, etc. I have decided, though, that balance has got to be the thing to aim for. Now I just have to decide the best way to do it. Everyone's body is different, so it isn't the same for everyone. That's one thing I like about Andreas' book, it takes into account different body types, age, condition of body and mind. You don't have to get his book to find out about Ayurveda, though. You can just go to a bookstore and check out the books that they have there and see what you think.
I also think it's important to take care of the digestive organs, that is, make sure they are functioning well and that they are clean. If they are working right, and you get a good amount of macronutrients into your body, drink enough good water, get some sunshine, enough sleep, and exercise, then your body can take care of the specifics, such as pH balance.
Enjoying food with friends is an important part of life, and in this country, it can be very difficult because of a lot of restaurants and fast food places only serve unhealthy food. If you loosen up on your dietary restrictions and find a few restaurants that serve decent food, you can start to enjoy yourself more, and that's important to our health, too.

It sounds like you did most everything. Did you do lots of lemon juice and apple cider vinegar in water, daily? Baking soda taken straight? I think that your regime of exercise, calcium, and juicing, incorporated with these things, would help, without having to be such a raw vegan. Perhaps it's time you rephased your diet, more cooked veggies, good oils, and some thought about animal products. But I think you should be measuring blood pH, not urine pH. Also, you didn't mention what cleanses you've done. If you haven't killed off imbalances or done liver flushing, for example, such a diet could make your liver more congested. Just some ideas.

If the calcium is not the correct ph for you then it will not do any good...and can sometimes make the ph more acidic...

According to Dr. Young, aggressive excercise, sweet fruits and fruit juices are all very acidifying.

I know this can be a challenging issue (it is one I'm working on as well, and I've read many of your posts), but I thought I'd share this feeedback, just in case....

How acidic are you talking? Dr. Young's theory is that urine and saliva should measure between 6.8 and 7.2. This is not something that I have been able to keep and what ground I did gain was quickly lost with a bite of a starchy food. So do you think that his theory is a little far fetched? I wonder myself.

I, too, have candida and I am on some stuff from Hanna's herbs. I still have at least a couple of months left before I finish them all up.

I too have been alkalizing over the past year. Young Living has a very good product called Alkalime which has the 5 alkaline minerals, Postassiu, Magnesium, Calcium, Manganese and Sodium) combined with a couple of essential oils one being lemon. I found this was extremely helpful given sometimes eating alkaline foods just isn't enough. Secondly, Garden of Life's Primal Defense product is excellent for getting the beneficial flora re-established in the GI tract. Also, do a google search for Christine's Cleanse Corner - Christine is a cleanse coach and has worked through these issues many times and is well versed and an advocate of PH balancing. I'm assuming you did a good colon cleanse. It's frustrating trying everything and it doesn't help. I've recently read the maker's diet and I wonder if some people should eat a high quality grass-fed beef loaded with CLA, omega 3's, lower fat and lots of nutrients we just can't get from vegan living. Jordan Rubin advocates eating clean meats such as chicken, lamb or beef or wild salmon. If we're focusing on ph balancing our bodies also need the nutrients from the acidic side and we can have them in small portions. So go girl....my kids love the grass fed beef ground up with wild rice (great source on line for alkaline wild rice - "Wilderness...." type in that plus wild rice in google and you'll find the family run business. Also, Jordan Rubin advocates coconut oil. I think we often are missing the essential fats needed for our bodies to work correctly. I've also have been working with glyconutrients. Please be patient. Red blood cells take 4 months to regenerate. The glyconutrients are not like Vioxx for example...a wonder drug that will make your pain go away guickly but with side effects. Glycos are non-toxic and my clients tell me how they are slowly feeling better, more energy, clearer thinking etc. They are incredible and be patient. My son had a total turnaround on the glyconutrients combined with the endocrine system product from the same company and their Antioxidant. Very powerful combination. Food alone is tough, I believe we need nutrional assistance of high quality pharmaceutical grade neutraceuticals. I wish you the best in your journey. Remember Stress is a hugely acifying. I'm now working on meditating.....that is an enormous challenge for my Tupe A personality but incredibly good for us along with learning to take deep breaths throughout the day. there was as much difference as night and day. Bad ph is
