Hey!
I love meeting people with whom I connect with like you! There's not a lot of people who are like me.
I'm sorry, I was gonna post where I explain how to do the kinesiology. But I forgot to do it when I finished writing. It's on the anxiety forum where I'm talking to an anonymous person. Sorry I can't find it right now. My computer isn't working right. I'll post it later if I can.
To find out what grains are best you would need personal testing, but I have found that most people do not do well with the hybridized grains, this would be wheat, corn, oats, barley, rye, pretty much all the common grains. Non-hybridized heirloom grains, which are in fact the only ones that my family don't test weak to, are quinoa(we eat this most of the time, it's delicious)amaranth, and wild rice. All of the other grains, including corn, come from very weak seeds. Heirloom grains come from very old, strong grains, they have survived a long time. I have seen heirloom wheatberries at the health food store but I haven't tested them on anyone.
For people with vata imbalances they need to add oils to their foods because they do not have the necessary oils in their body for digestion. So for me, adding oils to all my food really helps me stay in balance, and prevents from having difficult sleep.
Insomnia is so bad! I guess it could be that the greens don't have the proper balance of minerals, but why do we seem to be the only ones effected? I don't know. All I know is that I do not do good with a lot of greens. I haven't notice that too many greens makes my skin dry.
I tried lots of supplements to help me sleep but not of them were effective. The only thing that's helped is taking minerals. Maybe a part of what causes insomnia is mineral imbalances, especially calcium and magnesium. My mom has also been helped by minerals.
I have candida also, but fruit has never seemed to cause me any problems. As long as I don't eat too much. Moreless said that as long as you have the proper minerals, fruit will not effect candida. I've learned that I just need fruit, it's balancing for my dosha(vata/kapha)and I always feel awful and just cannot sleep when ever I take it away.
From what your telling me, you are definitly a vata. Difficulty gaining weight, insomnia, being helped by fat, not tolerating a lot of greens, these are all classic characteristic of a vata, an imbalanced vata. I am not a pure vata so I don't have all the characteristics by I definitly have tendencies towards vata imbalances, thats why it's really helped me to understand what balances it. I'm really starting to get familiar with my body and what it needs. It's a long process though.
Sweet potatoes are very balancing for me, and vatas in general, they do not raise my blood
Sugar too much. They are one of my favorite foods.
I can't eat a lot in one sitting. I get full fast and if I eat too much I have stomach pains. But often I don't feel satisfied with my meals so I overeat. But I'm learning what satisifes me.
I totally understand your problem. It's just so frustrating when so many things are not good for you and cause insomnia. I have a hard time living normally too because of all my health problems. But I think you might be really helped by eating some heirloom grains, I love quinoa, instead of the corn. Grains in general are balancing for vatas, so are most of the non-leafygreen veggies.
It sounds to me like you have a very weak congested liver, because you don't do well with fats, and in that case
Liver Flushing and
coffee enemas would really help you. The benefits of getting stones out, I think would outweigh your intolerance to too much fat. Because in order for you to be able to digest fats properly you have to have a clean liver.
What I meant was that I only use olive oil on my skin. But I also usually use it on my food. One thing I wanted to say about the coconut oil is that I read that it does not effect the liver. So for someone with a very congested, weak liver coconut oil would not be a burden. Someone said that the coconut oil didn't work with the liver flush. But you could try it and see how it works for you. If not it doesn't you may have to use another oil. I think
Liver Flushing would help you the most.
I read a while ago on Andreas' forum about a woman who couldn't eat oils without breaking out in a rash, and she was really helped by liver flushes.
coffee enemas are also supposed to be very helpful to the liver, they keep the bile flowing.
I'll thinks that's about all I wanted to say. Sorry it's so long.
Love, Mary
