Jhan,
I respect your knowledge and willingness to share to help others. I often refer people here on the board to you for your protocols. I am going to follow them as well.
But on the subject of chemical antifungals, I'm sorry I have to disagree with you. I understand you have had a terrible experience with pharma stuff when you were a kid, so that you will not take them now or ever. So I'm assuming you have never tried any of them?
First, Nystatin is not a chemical. It is a mold from the earth that kills other molds and yeasts. Works about the same as GSE.
Second, In hundreds of case histories, Diflucan (fluconazole) is the one that is most tolerated by patients, even young children. (Source, Dr. William Crook)
Third, Nizoral (ketoconazole) is the one I would caution people to avoid if at all possible. This stuff can be very dangerous. This is the one that will beat up your liver with a sledgehammer, exposure time different of course, patient to patient. This is also reported in case histories. Usually used only as an extreme measure for rapidly declining patients. If a dr Rx this for anything else, he hasn't done his/her homework.
I have used all of these at one time or another and the above info also bears true for me.
Now I am not saying that any of these are a "magic bullet" as someone said. But it is much easier to get over the hump of miseries associated with candidiasis. Eat light, support the liver and kidneys and with your (Jhan's) protocols afterwards I really believe a person can get well and not have to suffer as long, like with the natural antifungals.
If a person really has a bad case of candidiasis they will respond to diflucan. If the underlying problem is greater than the subsequent candida problem caused, then they might not respond as well to diflucan. (like shroom)
Again, Jhan, I respect your education, your knowledge and experience with candida. But I just wanted to voice the truth about the Rx stuff. Thanks, obj
