I am quite certain that the panic outside because of Vitamin A overdosing is unneccessary. I have read some very old scientific research papers where they treated actinic keratosis with 100000 - 200000 IE daily for up to two years with quite good results. They didn't know about the zinc Vitamin A relation at that time so there were some non-responders due to some "unknown" facttor as they wrote it.
Nevertheless, I never dared to get that high in Vitamin A and yes, anemia is a problem in my case. So together with zinc I also take iron again (was severly deficient four years ago) and copper as well.
Whether it is due to Vitamin A I don't know, but my menses has become much lighter than it was some years ago. It is shorter in duration and less blood loss.
What helped with the pain were Vitamin C and Magnesium. There I take Magnesium Citrate orally and Magnesium Oxide topically.
So I am now at least reliably painkillerfree for two years :)
I was also almost entirely PMS free for approximately two years. But it was coming back with a severity that two months ago I was almost going to a psychiatric hosptial since I couldn't deal with the emotional turmoil inside.
Three days ago I started again with natural progesterone and will see how this influences my PMS symptoms. But... it triggered another herpes.
It has improved after I increased my thyroid hormone dose.
I started with zinc sulfate, then tried picolinate and bisglycinate. Zinc oxide I have because I wanted to do the zinc taste test.
Orally I went back to zinc sulfate. I don't know exactly how, but I had a definite "feeling" that it was most effective in me.
E.G. I also had a pancreatic insufficiency, which produces clear digestive symptoms and with zinc sulfate the symptoms turn better, while with picolinate and bisglycinate I felt my zinc status going down and the digestive problems returning.
I am applying the zinc oxide (heptahydrat) topically and apply the zinc sulfate to the lips when drinking it.
However, zinc interferes with copper and iron absorption. Both copper and iron deficiency contribute to anemia and so on.
I hope
Iodine is a new link. I haven't started drinking it yet. I still have some pills with 200µg and I think I have to start slowly. I am unbalanced at the moment and cannot compensate bigger irritations very well and I learned several times already, that as helpful as supplements are there is always some relation that one misses and then they actually can have strong side effects.
Also, my thyroid hormone dose is quite high and TSH is supressed so before I could see any effect of
Iodine on my thyroid function I would have to lower my dose such that the TSH will recover and can stimulate thyroid hormone production and that means some weeks of an unbalanced system... Iron is involved here as well. So complicated, sigh...
One idea, lack of menses is also associated with lack of progesterone. Progesterone is synthesized from Cholesterol, which needs Niacin. Niacin is a potent Cholesterol lowering vitamin, probably because it triggeres all the subsequent paths...
Have you tried Niacin already? Have you ever looked into the biochemistry of hormone synthesis? Do you have some tests about prolactine, or progesterone?
E.g. high prolactine ist also a consequence of zinc deficieny and can also interfere with the menstrual cycle.
