Thanks for your reply! Is there a site that tells you how to decipher your detox by looking at your tongue?? That would be really interesting! (Tongue fur itself is very interesting!)
I do long fasts with the supevision of my excellent naturopath/nutritionist, who has me do a pre-cleanse (I ate this for 30 days prior to my 60 day fast last summer), and a rebuilding diet after.
Pre-cleanse
Big bowl of fresh fruit with natural (no sugar, good culture) yogurt, whizzed as a smoothie if you like
Big salad dressed with good oil like flax or olive, fresh lemon juice, garlic, cayenne
All the homemade vegetarian soup you want, same soup you break with, for dinner
Drink all the FRESH juices you like during this diet, fruits in the am, veggies in the pm
Lots of water!
Rebuilding:
Same as above, gradually adding clean protein (I eat fresh fish and chicken breast), small amounts of whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds and good oil
I ate this way for about six months after my big cleanse last summer. You continue to cleanse gently, and keep that light, clean feeling going!
How nice you can do this with a partner! It's always just me... and my lemonade! (Glug, glug) Thank goodness for this forum--I pretty much lived here last summer, and saw a lot of action!
