For the most part, I agree with Archus. Water fasting means water only. To that I would add, not tap water, and if at all possible Distilled.
"eat only raw foods" To that I would add Organic only.
"Depression is a condition you can get out of in one day
"Depression is a condition of brain not getting good food, eat good fats, avocado, olive oil, flaxseed, coconut products, etc. everyday". To that I say Depression goes much deeper than that and requires modifying events, memories, and the responses of the subconcious mind where they are stored. There are tools for this.
In fact there are tools for the depression, anxiety, and PTSD, as well as losing weight. Also successful water fasting.
Namely, Visualisation http://tinyurl.com/z66gx5w Long ago I posted about a High school, or college basketball team that used visualisation to get better at free throws. They split the team up into two groups, one group practiced actually throwing the ball while practicing, while the other group just practiced by visualizing throwing the free throws.
At the end of a certain time period both groups improved within a few percentage points of the other.
Powerful stuff, but the power is magnified by doing it with self hypnosis. http://tinyurl.com/hkhs84l
Notice that you can sample each audio book [bottom of each] and that the first one is free, then for $15 you can get 1 a month.
The energy drinks that you mention can be bad for you. At least some. Red Bull is a popular one that has 11 grams of sugar. That's bad enough, but the sugar comes from Beets which are 100% GMO.
If you're serious about fasting, forget about starting out at
a 40 day fast. It's not going to happen. Go slow, and it will eventually happen. Use the tools. They will make a difference if you practice them.

What is your opinion on the "no toothpaste" thing.
I don't buy it. I brush if for no other reason to get the muck off the tongue that builds up on a extended fast. I rinse with water, and don't swallow.
