More Fasting Questions :
I am near to completing Day 4 of my first ever water fast. The plan is 7-8 total days, so ending on Sunday or Monday.
1) My blood pressure *still* has not dropped. It is still in the 145/100 range. I thought fasting drops blood pressure quickly??
2) The knee pain I had for years is gone, that too on the first day of the fast (although I had cut out a lot of dairy/protein for 1 month prior to the fast, so maybe that is the reason, and it just happened to coincide with the fast). When I start eating again, we shall see if the pain stays gone.
3) I hope autolysis has started. I have a kidney cyst that is pre-cancerous but small in size. I also have a couple of harmless lipomas, that I can feel by hand (and thus use as a measure of whether autolysis is happening). Does autolysis eat the more recent bad tissue first, and older tissue last?
The big mystery is that I won't know the status of the cyst until another MRI, and my allopathic doctor will of course say it is time for partial/full nephrectomy if the cyst is the same size or larger.
4) How do you know if you have an electrolyte imbalance, heart attack risk, or other risk that can (rarely) happen in a fast? Similarly, how do I know if I am feeling True Hunger? At the moment, no cravings at all.
5) The coated tongue has started. But I don't know if the same would be the case if I just were not brushing and tongue-scraping twice a day as a normal routine. Not sure if this is exclusively due to the fast. I am not brushing my teeth, and I hope there is not tooth decay during the fast. How long does the coated tongue last? When it ends, is that a sign to end the fast?
I will be quite bummed if I get neither hypertension reduction or autolysis of my cyst, from this fast.
Oh, and one last one :
