rip up carpet?

I'm moving into an old apartment in Los Angeles with 15 year old carpet. I also have a parasite infestation and mercury poisoning. Would it make sense for me to pull up the carpet before I move in? I've ben told pulling it up will release dangerous toxins, and I'm better off just leaving it. Not sure what to do!
The previous tenant had the place tested for mold and it was negative.- get it out White Shark

This is a reply to # 2,244,348pay someone to remove it and replace it with hardwood floor.
Clean and wash all dust before moving in.

This is a reply to # 2,244,348Go to lowes and buy some carpet protector that painters use to avoid accidental spillage. It has an adhisive on one side so you don't have to worry about the plastic sliding around. You tear out the carpet the owner may not be to happy, you buy the carpet protector when you decide to move you just pull up the plastic and go about your merry way

This is a reply to # 2,244,348I would tell them of your problem & offer to have it done, or split it with them and let them know how it would improve the health quality of the apartment, let them know of the value added. Get help if you can.
