My 11 year old Jack Russel Terrier was diagnosed with a thyroid tumor and an additional fatty tumor last month and the Vet didn't give a good prognosis for him. There is an experimental surgery available but it's only been performed once on Cape Cod (where we live) and the other dog didn't fair the surgery very well because it's incredibly invasive; apparently the tumor he has is rarely found in dogs but is commonly found in humans...yeah, we didn't understand that one either.
After a lot of consideration, and praying, I declined the surgery because he's active and happy now, not showing any sign of pain or illness, but the surgery would have made him instantly miserable if he did manage to survive it.
After researching his condition on the internet, I happened upon CureZone and found a lot of hopeful information that I could use to possibly heal him; I'm very encouraged about the information I found regarding iodine, Colloidal Silver and Inositol/IP6 (and have purchased for use) but I don't know how to administer them and in what doses.
The thyroid tumor is the size of a golf ball, as is the fatty tumor right next to it. When I touch them, he doesn't seem to experience pain but he likes it when I rub his throat. He's 11 years old and weighs 20 pounds.
The Vet guessed that the thyroid tumor could be cancerous, since it grew since his last check up last year, but I declined more a more invasive biopsy because I don't want Dexter to be hurt. The other tumor is fatty because the biopsy was relatively easy to do; it's possible the one on the thyroid is too but it's not confirmed. He's on a grain free, organic diet and drinks filtered water.
Dexter is my world and I couldn't love a child, if I had one of my own, any more than I love him. Please please please, any information on dosing and administering would be massively appreciate!!!

This is a reply to # 2,218,522- 11 years old; Yes I would have declined the surgery as well at this age of a dog, when he seems to be in a relatively good shape.
Iodine may work for stamina and energy, but there may be a detox phase involved, so please read up about it at the Iodine forums.

I've been keeping an eye on him for any signs of detox and I haven't noticed any. Tonight he ate very well and wanted to play with his soccer ball when he was done but I will continue to monitor him.

additional potassium Iodine is a good idea. i would start with one drop (30mg) or maybe dilute SSKI half and half with water and one drop would be 15mg or so per day and go from there. selenium too. about 20mcg selenomethionine a day. chop a tablet or dispense from a capsule 100mcg five ways and at the end of five days you know the whole thing has been taken.

I will look into the potassium Iodine also, thank you for the dosing information!

This is a reply to # 2,218,609Give your dog LOTS of Colloidal Silver . If you are using Colloidal Silver to fight tumors you should give your dog lots of it and plenty of inositol/IP6 - which has been a great combo for fatty tumors in dogs. If it were me I would start the off with Colloidal Silver mixed 50/50 with the water. And don't worry about him drinking it - dogs PREFER water with colloidal silver over plain water. And don't worry about overdoing it with either the silver or the inositol/IP6. I once gave one of our found dogs 50/50 colloidal silver and water for weeks after it was attacked and bitten by a rabid skunk. Two years later and the dog is alive and well. And never turned blue either : )
After a couple of weeks you could cut back to a couple of ounces a day perhaps. For more information and suggestions about canine cancers see:

This is a reply to # 2,218,745Sorry I missed this earlier, Hanna. I suppose you could overdo it, but I have never heard of it happening and I know of a very large group of users. There is a pretty sizable "cult" of Inositol/IP6 users down in Utopia, Texas where the Utopia-Silver Supplements Company is located and where I lived for a couple of years. They use it for pets and other animals as well as humans. What happened was that a guy moved to town, sang the supplement's praises (the one he used was Cell Forte, which contains inositol/IP6 and some other items suche as cats claw) and begged the owner of the company to carry it. The local postman used it with great success and was soon signing it's praises far and wide and other successes soon followed. One can never predict with certainty, but the combo of Cell Forte and Colloidal Silver has done wonders with dogs, horses and other animals with fatty tumors. First, I want to thank everyone for their support of my initial posting. It's been a month since I began treating Dexter for his tumors and, according to the Vet, that diagnosed him with Thyroid Cancer, I would have been in his office discussing putting Dexter down due to me declining the $20,000 experimental surgery.
Well, I'm very encouraged!! Dexter is acting like a normal 11 year old Jack Russell and doesn't show any sign of illness what so ever; he eats like a little pig (Vet said his appetite would be the first to go) and is constantly wanting us to play with him.
I did, however, change his consumption habits. He only gets filtered water (I bought a Britta water filter for $32) and he's on a grain free diet.
I also give him 10 drops of Colloidal Silver (500 ppm), three drops of Iodine solution and a capsule of IP6 twice a day with his meals.
The results we've had so far:
1) The swelling by his thyroid has shrunk by at least a 1/3 of it's previous size.
2) The tumor he has on the side of his chest was the size of a golf ball but is now the size of a gum ball. I found another smaller tumor in his arm pit that was the size of a marble before but is now about the size of a pea.
3) His eyes were starting to get cloudy and his sight was starting to get bad a month ago but now they are completely clear and he can actually see food to catch it again, when I toss it to him.
4) A benefit that I didn't expect was that he's been a horrible shedder since he was a puppy but he barely sheds at all now; his coat is soft and thicker than it's ever been.
So, there you go. He's doing great and I'm blissfully happy because I get to keep my little man with me longer. I'm going to keep giving him the 'treatments' every day as long as he shows benefit from it.

Our Jack Russell terrier has a cataract in one eye and has been losing hair. I have been considering adding Iodine to his food and now I think I will do it for sure. What solution are you using? Lugol's 5%?

This is a reply to # 2,218,722That is wonderful advice, thank you! The Colloidal Silver that I purchased is 550 ppm so I've only been putting two drops in his water. As for the IP6, I put one capsule on his food in the evening. He doesn't seem to mind either. I'll slowly keep increasing the dosage, thanks!!!

This is a reply to # 2,218,798I have some of that too, but I guess you arent suppose to add it to water that may have chlorine in it, so I havent started him on it yet. We use tap water that runs thru a filter. I need to read up on this aspect of silver. I think some kind of reaction can take place, I try to store water here and there and use old milk cartoons. I added some silver once and the cartoons had some sort of chemical reaction take place on the inside... it convinced me.

This is a reply to # 2,219,299Basic carbon filters do not remove chlorine from the water. I buy high Alkaline Water of 9.5ph or greater. Not electric ionized... Natural water only. This water will not change the properties of the CS. Using tap water would be adding toxins into the mix. Chlorine is not the only deadly substance in the water. I also add wheatgrass to my dogs diet. Works wonders for any ailments. Best of luck!

MoreThis is a reply to # 2,221,656Chlorine breaks down and is gone within 24 hours if you let your water sit out (covered by a cloth to help keep dust and other air contaminants out). However, a caution: Chloramination (instead of chlorination) is becoming more and more common, and it's harder to remove, especially by simple aging. For example, chlorimine has a half life of 26.6 hours even in boiling water (compared to 1.8 hours for chlorine.

I heard about treating lymphoma cancer with Colloidal Silver for the first time three weeks ago and I have been using it both topically on the tumors with DMSO and by mouth with Ionized Water . I HAVE WITNESSED THE MOST EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS AS THE TUMORS SHRUNK TO ONE THIRD OF THEIR SIZE OVERNIGHT. I have just been buying it from the health food stores around my area (Eugene, Oregon).

MY baby has these fatty tumors too. he seems happy and the vet biopsied them n they came back negative , but the one on his little neck is getting bigger. I am truly worried but have been pushing this back. I wish you the very best too.

The Vet told me the only option available to treat Dexter was a $20,000 experimental surgery with a low chance of him surviving it. When I declined, he told me to come back in December (this month) and discuss euthanasia. Dexter is doing fine, acting like a typical Jack Russel and improving day by day!! I wrote an update showing exactly what I'm doing everyday for him.

I have a Shiba Enu, 9 years old, who has tumors also. We have both kinds, fatty ones on the skin and Cancerous ones in her rectum lymph nodes.
Here's what we have done:
1. The fatty ones was very easy and a kind of miracle. I felt a big bump on her thigh and she was not walking normally. So I started rubbing Castor Oil on it and she even licked my hand with the oil. Beyond my surprise the bump went away in 3 days. This has happened twice already.
2. For the cancerous ones, we are giving her IP6 one pill twice a day crushed and mixed in her food. We gave her Colloidal Silver intially in her water 25% CS, she drank it eagerly, now she does not touch the water with CS. So we stopped. We also are doing the Budwig protocol, a mix of Cottage cheese, Flax oil and freshlly crushed Falx seeds. She is fairling well with all this. She is also getting Iodine in her food two to three drops in the morning meal and Vitamin C and half Brazil nut in the evening food.
Hope all this helps your Dexter. Emmy my dog is lively, but we know that she is hurting with tumors in her rectum, especially when she poops.

I'm sorry your dog is going through this too, it's hard on everyone. I'm treating Dexter similarly and having good results from it. I also only give him filtered water and a grain free diet. He hated the Colloidal Silver I put in his water so I mix it with his food, along with the Iodine solution and IP6, and he doesn't know it's there.

This is a reply to # 2,218,522I'm so sorry to hear that. My dog died from cancer a few years ago, i know how hard it is to see that. But before we take a pet, we know that he'll probably die before we do. That's the good case. the most important is knowing that we gave them the best life possible.
Your dog had and is still having a great life, surrounded with love. I agree with you not wanting him to suffer from the treatments. That's not how he deserves to go.
