I have been taking
Iodine now for about 2 ½ months at what I thought was 100mg per day but now it seems that I have been taking much more, around 150mg – 200mg (just found out the dropper I was using was a lot bigger than the standard one). I am taking
Iodine for FBD and endometriosis and it is helping with the breast lumps which is great.
Anyway I am needing some advice on Candida – I have always battled candida problems, tied to my heavy metal problems I think. Anyway I assumed the
Iodine was taking care of a lot of this as it is supposed to be anti-fungal. So when I started taking iodine I initially felt really good, but as the weeks have gone by I have become more tired, with brain fog, sinus congestion – all this I was putting down to bromide detox. But at the same time I have been craving sweet things, chocolate and anything else sweet, and usually I can control my sweet cravings but these were strong and I admit to giving in, having a bit of a treat each day and thinking the iodine will sort out any yeast overgrowth.
But with the sinus congestion and brain fog not easing up, and now a dose of vaginal thrush, a few days ago I decided to try some coconut oil to see if that helped, and whammo, day two of taking 2 tablespoons of coconut oil I got the most horrible herx reaction, sore throat, brain fog, extreme fatigue, blocked nose, aching joints – the worst candida die-off I’ve ever felt.
Sooo my question is, why hasn’t the iodine been killing at least some of the candida? I would have thought that my candida problem would have been lessoned at least a bit if not eliminated. But it seems that the iodine just stirred it up and made it angry, or perhaps the iodine has been mobilising metals which have spread my candida – anyway I would appreciate any advice as I am feeling a little disheartened at the moment, thanks.
