I like to take pregneolone and or DHEA ... plus extra vitamin C...to 'soften' the crash.


Also make sure you get enough water ans salt... dehydration can cause crashing.

If it's horrible and you have severe Depression or insomnia... take some kind of palliative medicine... like cannabis or tramadol if needed.

If you you have digestive issues, eat soft and simple food (soup, broth, etc) and build us to solid food over a few days.

Learn the lesson of the crash and integrate it... but don't worry or beat yourself up about it.

lastly, build your energy reserve back by starting very gentle yoga... for 5 to 10 minutes.. and slowly increase it back as high as you want to go.

It's a living hell, Tom. I've been there. Your body feels awful and it seems like there's no progress, no understanding, no hope. I get that. The grief and despair is a natural response, and I know it feels awful. I feel for you, I really do. And your actual physiology is contributing to how you feel, I mean really changing your mood chemically. We have to be on guard about that. And forgiving of ourselves for falling victim to it, it's quite understandable if we get down. We've got a lot working against us.

But things do get better. Slowly, yes, but better. And, yes, there are ups and downs, but overall you know that things have been improving. Trust in that. Go easy on yourself, be compassionate with yourself. Hang in there and take some comfort in the fact that your compatriots in the fight are fighting along with you here in the forum.

I am so sorry you've gone backwards in improvement. I know you must be really upset if are where you were 19 years ago. That must be very frustrating.

Do you think that the same regime you were on in the past will bring you back up to speed again?

It's great to know that you had 4-5 years of better health. I've been ill with AF for exactly four years. To know that you were able to achieve better health already once before... that knowledge must be empowering.

You asked if any of us could share some coping skills... I'd like to learn a few myself! I think it's important to remember that mental anguish at this point is normal, and that it's exacerbated by AF. It's not innate to you and who you are, and it will ease up as your physical symptoms improve. I'm sorry I don't have something more encouraging to write. I hope you are doing well today.

You stated your "ND re-evaluated you; you had been doing lots of detox prior to that, and she told me that my adrenals were low. You resumed taking some of the adrenal supplements."
Here are some ideas/ suggestions to address your concern.
1- remove the cause/ culprits in your food choices and replace with definitely high-water Hydrating foods [fruits & vegetables suitable for your body type and temperment]. Know which foods are triggering your conditions and consider more alkalanizing food choices, ie., warm water & fresh-squeezed lemon upon rising each day
2- try "rebounder" exercise; go for a walk to your favorite outdoor place where sunshine may help invigorate
3- engage in your favorite [childhood] activity where YOU were the creator/ author of beautiful creating
4- do you have at least one trusted confidant you can re-connect with?

So very sorry to hear Seattle.

What regime of supplements, protocal, etc. helped pull you through 4-5 years ago? I'd like to hear about it.

I've been stuck just like Hope4myadrenal, for the past 4 years too, but in realtiy have stuggled and rallied through the mild to moderate stage of AF for the past 16 years.

I've been in that frame of mind as you Seattle many times the past 3 years, at my worst I was even in a crisis unit, because I was thinking of suicide.

But, by God's grace and my loving husband, I am hanging on, because I've seen my AF come out of the moderate and severe stage, before I declined into an even more severe stage. I cling to that hope and my faith in God.

Do you have someone close to you who understands what you are going through? It is important to have someone to lean on and can give encouragement.

When I'm at my worst, and the anxiety-depresson, nausia is super bad, I will resort to the strongest meds, Valium and or Vistral, very calming.

But, I use these on very rare occassions. ( as I develope a tolerance and addiction if even taken in 2-3 consecutive days. I have not taken one in over a year.

It was the only thing to keep my sanity at that time.

Otherwise I resort to GABA, Theanine, Taurine and trying Inositol now. But, my anxiety episodes are not as severe as they were 1-2 years ago.

Seattle, I know you will pull through this. It's just a very very rough time right now. I wished I was there to give you some hugs and encouragement.

At least one thing, by you sharing this post, and for all of us in a struggling state still, to observe any detoxing with extreme caution and extreme gentleness, if not much at all for that matter.

I'm going to be praying for you too.
